I’ve ordered a kit also. I get updates all the time through Art and @ttforcefed. It’s taking a little while more then planned in the beginning but I’m not worried at all. The end result is worth it. Just sit down in the boat and be patient. Art will come through.
I find it very rich that someone who had your absurdly optimal experience would come in here and berate the rest of us who have not. Your car was sent to EAG and returned in 4.5 months. Despite the pandemic. I can't imaging anyone being upset with your experience. I know multiple other people who have waited significantly longer and still do not have their cars. My car has been there for 8.5 months just for the conversion. They've had my full parts payment for over 13 months. I did order the OEM parts, but asked on 2 separate occasions if I could please switch over to the aftermarket parts to expedite things. I was denied. If I had your experience, I would feel the same as you, but would not berate the others who have been passed over. I did have a very nice conversation with Art yesterday, and hopefully will receive my car back within another month or so. (thank you ttforcefed!!!!) Kevin
if 8k is stopping anyone from doing the conversion then they weren't gonna do it in the first place, especially considering you will have a car that's more liquid and you will get all your money back, even on the crappiest of cars like we saw on the last BAT auction for a converted car.
Yup, Yes, I was planning on buying the kit end of this year and doing a diy. I could justify 13k for parts, but not 21k
Disagree strongly. You’re talking about a 60%+ price increase like it’s nothing. Sorry, but $8k is a lot of money any way you look at it, especially when you take in account that the price spread on a gated/f1 360 isn’t astronomical like you see on the F430.
8k is nothing on these cars - have you ever replaced the sticky buttons or a convertible top or an f1 actuator or a set of headers?
so thinking out loud - 3 months ago we just bought a 34k mile 360 spider in factory stick for 78K and normal refreshing type stuff we are in around 95k. we cld have bought a mint 360 f1 for 65k and if we spent 30k at eag we wld be in for in for 95k....the numbers aren't far off...a mint converted 360 shld sell for 100k all day long no?
Berate huh...is that how it is when someone comes in to provide an alternative to the negative-slanted commentary from others? My comments had nothing to do with your experience...just your approach used to relate it. That's right, I did have a good experience and I'll post it just as you choose to post yours. And if I label it as I read it then that's my opinion to which you're fully entitled to disagree. Don't like my phraseology? Was my opinion of your posts too harsh? Find it too rich for your taste? Ah well...I'd hate to see the reaction from you if I truly tried to berate...I actually thought I was being pretty benevolent...lol.
No more posts from me until my scud is officially sorted and i can give a review. If anyone has a 360 id call art to discuss pricing as its a fair thought.
DEFINITELY looking forward to it! I'll also post thoughts and pictures of my 360 when completed. Kevin
Ok final post. Test shift gate works perfectly! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks great. A slightly larger radius on the screw recesses and the gate edges would make it perfect.
You want the edges designed to where you hit them on gear changes to get the clicking. Inefficient, but fun .
Ahh, it's just a finishing detail on the very top surface to make it look original. The gate in my manual spider had more rounded edges on the top - the rest of the piece looks great.
Agreed; a small radius chamfer around the inside edge of the gate opening would make it a touch more pleasing to the eye. Looks a quality product either way though. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
