With the Battery against the front wheel on my 355, is there an easy way to recharge the battery without taking the wheel off? Thank you; Laurent
If you cannot find the instructions in your owners manual there are probably also threads in the 355 section pointing out the studs in the engine bay for charging
On the right hand side of the engine bay, lift the plastic cover with the red "+" on it and attach the postive lead of your charger. All the terminals there are positive. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sorry, don't know whose photo this is (I borrowed it a while ago) Put the negative lead of your charger on a suitable point on the chassis. I seem to recall an earth stud near the plastic box. Make sure your battery cutout switch isn't in cutout. Turn on your charger.
You can plug the charger lead (assuming it has a corresponding connector) into the lighter receptacle in the center console (I don't like this way but it is possible). Or wire a set of charger leads to the battery terminals and keep the plug-end of the lead under the front hood. This is what I do, I keep the charger leads under the CD cover.
Ian, As a point of interest, the F355 Challenge has an Auxiliary Connector to enable quick access for charging without having to remove the cover panel... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Barry
Or how about a battery relocation to move the weight from the front tip? I thought about hiding a lithium battery in a Schedoni case. Image Unavailable, Please Login
