    Well,they're not replicas but they are recreations.

    Nothing wrong with an exact recreation and selling in 6 figures is quite common. I know a few people that own recreations and paid big bucks for them.

    I have no problem accepting and appreciating them!

    It doesn't exist nor does the second.

    The third one is the oldest existing Ferrari and it is doing fine.

    there is a long wheel base and a short wheel base model, this appears to be the lwb.

    P.S. im not buying this, just saw it on ebay and Ive never seen anything like it before.
    you guys know without me having to even say it, all 1960s Ferraris were all slightly different and unique\in small ways.
    so i think the seller claiming it as museum quality looks accurate to me from the photos.

    Is there any copyright infringement going on there? recreation-tributes (rebodied ferrari 330s it appears) are not replicas, or are they? legally?
    just curious....

    What?!?!?!? i googled it, its true?!?!? (not that everything on the net is true, lol) odd behavior for ferrari corp....
    I'd just let it be missing history, like the "Amber Room" from WWII (which was replicated)
    then again, they have every legal right to do so and nothing dishonorable about it imo, just takes away from the lore

    I was actually talking about the California replica the factory has on display. That Ferrari portray as real.

    002 (C) is the third Ferrari that was built. 01C and 02C were built first and second but they no longer exist.

    does it deserve the Ferrari 250 California GT badge and emblems,
    engine bay decals, etc. to appear as though it was an original factory car?
    Seems disingenuous... but im not sure if it matters, as long as you arent selling it as original, or lying to ppl.

    which is my favorite response thus far.
    Like what Chip Foose, the designer, does for muscle cars. It's a resto-mod.

    Sure would feel less paranoid about driving it on public streets
    not sure how I could enjoy driving a one of a kind priceless collectable Ferrari,
    or at something around 4-10 million+ depending on history

    maybe drive a tribute around instead, go to a restaurant in Chicago and park it in a public garage
    and not even care about the mileage being the same when i get back from lunch.

    I recently built the kit from Renucci in Arizona. This is the old Ferris Bueller's day off car.It does stop traffic and brings back the old days of driving European sports cars. From what I have seen of these reproductions as posted here I doubt $300K would get you close to completion. My only comment here is no reproduction should ever try to fool anyone into thinking it's the real thing. The first thing I say to any admirer of my car is " it's a fake". In a previous thread I related the story of the kid who got off his bike to admire my car and commented "it sure makes my dad's Porsche look pretty lame" That's just enough to make my day. just one man's opinion tongascrew
