A bit early to start the thread. But just to keep everyone updated. 1) The rain will definitely come i think. Just what time, and how long. The last 2 weeks or so, showers came down between 2-6 pm, torrential rain, but only for 15 mins or so. Then, its shining all again. 2) Heavy rain last night from 8.30 pm right till about early this morning about 1 am. The rubber laid down most likely washed off... 3) The issue of having qualifying and race so late in the evening with rain being a threat, delay, etc, we might not get to see a full race because of darkness. 4) I am hoping for rain, but not till delay, etc occurs.
Too close to call for this one. If not rain, then we will see teams conserve tires. Degradation is hitting all some worse than others. I think with Aussie GP in mind we will see teams risk more in the race rather than qualy and burn up tires. They have learned from Sutil and Kimi last week. Having good tires and pace is better than pure pace.
Yup, too close to call is a good way to put it. I think Kimi has more speed to offer in sector 1 but not pole position speed. Alonso has more speed. 42C track temps! dry: Vettel Hamilton Kimi Rosberg Alonso Grosjean Massa wet: Ham Rosberg Vettel
Though a good qualifying spot helps, there are no points for grid positions and thrashing the set of tires you will have to start the race on just to get a good spot might not be worth it. Seems there could be some interesting strategies in play if a team wanted to be daring. >8^) ER
Hello all...looks clear at the circuit, but its already cloudy here...might rain halfway through. Or, right after quali
Bulls looking a little suspicious out there. VET in 11th? I'm certain they'll figure it out. McLaren looking more competitive today.
It's all about Sutil right now. From out of F1 to among the leaders early in the season. DiResta is just rounding out the top-10 by comparison.
tires tires tires. Newey wants to keep them together, qualy is a bit of a confusing affair now isn't it. Cars with tons of downforce are tearing their tires to shreds which is just the opposite of tires 2012
The RedBulls have my attention - totally unexpected to see them needing an extra lap to make sure they are safe. >8^) ER
