I'd just like to add my$0.02. I did not read all of the posts but I've been racing SCCA ITB and it is fairly inexpensive. Then last year I switched to a DSR and my budget was even less so although racing isn't cheap it can be affordable. When I was in my twenties I took up road racing motorcycles only because I thought car racing was so expensive that I would never be able to afford it. I wish I had known back then about club racing or even solo racing. It can be a fun hobby, and one of the things I like about it is the fact that it is not necessarily the best driver that wins but usually the best mechanic as everyone has to do their own labor as well.

I commented on this in the Carbonio thread, but it bears repeating herein, also... FNA/Michelotto intends to have their own spares trailer for the 458GT programme. This will not only cut down on the cost of building a spares package, but also the cost of tansporting them and the lost space in stocking the trailer. At least, that was the latest I was told. CW
Peter - qualifying and first race with skippy is tomorrow. Thank you for the TbT analysis. It was very helpful. I hope we can work together soon.
In the better late than ever category, I finally got some time to work on the video I took while roaming the garage taking pictures. I used my GoPro and it was a challenge to get close enough to the action for an interesting shot. A lot of the time I had it mounted on a pole which you can see by my shadow. I don't have the LCD screen so I have to guesstimate what I'm pointing at to get a decent composition of the shot. Frame, level and steady are the goals and I'm pleased with those results. The missing factor is the native sound as the cars should be recorded. I'm working on having a proper HD video camera for next year to capture it all. For now here's my video to go with the pictures I posted earlier in this thread. Sorry for the link. I tried to emmbed it with the normal tags but it won't work. If someone can embed it here that would be fine by me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sj8YYHXtDeA&feature=youtu.be Image Unavailable, Please Login
