Waterford Hills is also having a Vintage race that same weekend (Fri-Sun), maybe you guys could incorporate a trip out to the (local) road racing track into the festivities?

I plan on attending the concours on the 31st. I'll drive my 612 down. Isaac mentioned showing up in a Ferrari is enough to get into club parking. Is that accurate or is there something I need to do to reserve a spot?

I'm not sure if I will be able to join any of the other events that week.

Has anyone been to the MIS track event prior to the Concours? That is happening on July 29th. I haven't been, and I am wondering if it is something worth seeing.

I have never been there but it would be interesting if some exotics showed up.

 

Hey Ferrari's lets meet in Brighton at 6:45 am and we can drive to the show with a Saleen S7. Email me for the address where we will meet [email protected]

The Saleen is going straight to the show we are going to drive with it. Then we can go for a short drive and get some breakfast then go to the show.

Don't complain about 6:45am, we will be able to check out some other cars before the show.

Come on, lets get a big group. The more Ferrari's the better.

 

Its the first year that they are doing the track day (at least that I know) in the last 5 or so years that I have been shooting the show.

I decided not to take the day off so I hope someone gets some good video/photos

 

It looks like vintage racing is back in force. I'm really looking forward to that

 

I think i'm going to Waterford hills on Saturday. I do love vintage racing.

There is also racing going on at MIS on Friday. They are having vintage Indy cars, as well as road cars that are participants in the Concours d'elegance on the track. I'm thinking about checking that out.

We'll be at Waterford Hills all weekend (Fri-Sun).
Friday is a practice day that runs from 11am-5pm, then we head over to Depot Park in Clarkston for a mini-concours and silent auction benefiting SCAMP (approx 6-9pm).
Saturday and Sunday will be racing at Waterford, not some touring laps like the folks taking the vintage cars to MIS will be doing ;^D
If you've never been to MIS, you need to get there.....and I think running with the Saleen S7 with Nat and the guys would be a particularly exciting way to do it.
Waterford will even have a worker's car corral, which I have on good authority will include something purple and evil ;-P

Looks like a great weekend all the way around for car enthusiasts!

I don't anticipate being able to make it Friday to MIS myself. Hopefully people get some good photos and video

 

Anyone have an idea of what time the exotics for the show role in at? I would like to see some driving in so I can get some pics. Any info would be appreciated.

Historically I would say around a hour before the show starts, with some there before. But that was when it was a meadowbrook. Show cars tended to be driving around 2 hours before the show. I have not seen the new place but I hope it offers before and after show photos that can revile the tree lined drive.

 

I just got back from the Concours related event - the Vintage racing at MIS and it was AWESOME!!!

I got videos of Indy cars from the '50s, right from the tailpipes starting up, as well as other vintage racers. We got to wander anywhere in the pits, as well as the garage area.

This year the Supercar display is on the show field and we have asked them to come at about 7:30~8:00.
