1st meeting of the Greenville (NC) Ferrari Owners Club

I'd be up for a get together sometime...Raleigh would be a fun trip.

I have to admit that my riding style on a bike is really the complete opposite of how I drive a sports car.

I've been racing cars on road courses for 5 years on about 20 different tracks around the country. I've only been riding a motorcycle since August and didn't get into it for the speed. Plus, there aren't many curvy roads around here to develop any skills.

I'd definitely like to make a trip but I won't be trying to raise hell.

 

We'll do a Washington run one of these weekends when the weather warms up. We'd have to do a photo shoot by the water and then head out of town somewhere for a drive...make that quite far out of town

 

Yup...we'll do it.

I know one other guy who has a Monster 750 and I've seen some other Monsters at Starbucks before. There are probably a few lurking around town.

I must confess that I did go for a ride on the Supersport after we parted on Saturday. It was indeed a bit chilly

By the way, I'll be performing no hooligan antics on the Duc...

 

Don't worry, we're all pretty sane. Granted I was up front with the Aprilia that is at the gas station and we put some distance on the Monsters and Sport Classic a few times, but nothing scary like I have experienced riding with some of the Japanese riding crowds.

Next friday it is supposed to get up to 60. Hopefully the trend will continue. Doubt it, but I can hope.

I forgot to mention, we at www.exotixboard.com would love for you to join. There are only a couple exotic car owners, but it would be great for you to join.

There is one owner, Mike S, who owns a Ferrari F430, Lotus Exige S, etc.
There is also Magwheel, he owns a Carrera GT, Mercedes McLaren SLR, etc.

I think it would be great for you to join.

nice group. those of us on the 308 forum are looking for a location for an east coast gathering. your area is about halfway north/south. we need some local info such as places to stay, eat, etc. any help would be nice. please post on the 308 east coast gathering thread.

Costa Rica, wow. I've never been out of the country, but I've been from Michigan to Florida. One of my friends haven't been out of East North Carolina!

I am suprised I never saw your old M5, did you like it?

 

Yeah, the M5 was awesome. Actually, from the comparisons I've seen, the M5 is actually a better straight line performer than the 360. Its a pretty serious car performance wise and quite good otherwise as well.

I had no reason to get rid of it except that I wanted the Spider and don't need 2 high end cars. I just wanted a beater/daily driver ('99 M3) and a serious weekend car.

 

So uh...when were you thinking of coming over here?

 

I officially just got the worlds best Valentines Present! (to me anyways)

A 1997 Ford F-150....stock as can be, chrome bumpers and 4x4....but I LOVE IT! She is black.

Might not be bringing the M5 on the next visit down, close,very close on the Fcar!!!!! Might be making a deal at SportAuto in Greensboro.

Its really hard to let go of the M5, she has been really good to me and no problems. What other car can I track with and then load her up with 4 people!

None the less, I have the itch much like yourself! Either way we still need to meet up when I get down. There is a road outside Cypress Landing that I hit 140 mph in the M5, very nice staright stretch!!

I heard of a Car Show today, is this true? If so will you be there?

 

I'm in LA right now but yes there is a car show at the gville convention center. I heard on the radio that new Ferraris and a bunch of other cool stuff will be on display. You should definitely go and take pics...especially since I can't make it

 

I saw 2 Ferrari's. Both 360's, both red, both F-1 Trans.

There was one parked outside, and one inside, I thought the one outside was you!

I sat in the 360 inside, an aston martin V8 Vantage (MY FAVORITE!), 2 porsche's 4 lexus's (brand new) 2 Jaguars, 3 BMW's (5-series, 7 series, and Z4M Roadster) SEVERAL MBZ's (SL500, ML350, S500 (AMAZING!) etc.) 2 Jag's XK, and another one. Cadillacs etc. Very nice for only 5 bucks!

 

Ok, so im in a rough spot.

Im looking at a 2001 Tahoe, 1998 Jaguar XK, 2001 BMW X-5, and 2001 MBZ ML430. What would be the cheapest to maintain you think?
