For sale is my very original, very nicely maintained ’87 Carrera. I’ve owned this car for a couple of years, but it’s time to sell a couple cars and make a move in the market. This is a very well optioned car that remains in its original condition minus a quality repaint sometime in it’s history. Without the repaint, you’d have to consider this an incredible survivor car - all original VIN stickers are in place, original drivetrain, original sport seat interior, original carpets, headliner, everything is original to this car except the stereo. The option codes are listed below and I have a Flickr gallery with 216 photos of the car - depicting condition from every conceivable point of view and angle. I’m trying to be completely transparent with this car, as it’s a no-excuse, very honest car that doesn’t need any hype on my part. The pictures and condition truly speak for themselves.

I bought the car a couple years ago out of an estate of a gentleman from Texarkana who unfortunately passed away in his 40s. I was in contact with the Administrator of his Will and was able to get everything I could from her and the shop that was helping to sell the car for her. Due to this situation, the paperwork doesn’t go back as far as many would like, but I do have what the shop was able to offer. The Carfax also showed that the history and mileage checked out and once I had the car, the condition just kept getting better and better. You can see in the pics of the front truck area the unused spare, unused compressor, jack, tools, etc. are all in place. On the inside, the floors are immaculate under the stock carpets and floor mats - all showing a nice patina. The car came with additional brown floor mats in the front, which have kept the original tan mats in very nice condition. If not for the repaint - which shows extremely well - I would be inclined to call this a time capsule type car. Everything hasn’t been replaced to make it look new, it’s been extremely well kept in it’s original condition. Again, see all the pics to see condition and the relatively minor wear which gives it it’s patina. To me, this is the type of car to buy - you can always put them back into original condition, but they are only in this condition once. There are a few paint touch-ups, but they are hard to see and mainly on the front bumper.

I welcome any emails with specific questions on the condition and mechanical status. I wouldn’t characterize this as a collector’s car - with the paint and the mileage - but this is an extremely nice, 95% original car that you will be completely happy to attend a C&C or local Porsche event with. It constantly gets compliments. My history in cars is rather extensive and I can say this is a wonderful car that simply needs to be maintained and driven.

The top end was done in ’09 by Forza Motorsports (receipt in hand) and the car runs terrific. It runs a 911chips.com chip for 93 oct. The exhaust consists of an M&K test pipe and custom M&K Sport muffler with 3” SS tip (spec’d by me). The car runs 7/8” polished Fuchs date coded 1983 - extremely nice condition (see pics). Tires are recent Bridgestone RE11s in 205 and 245. The profile is so wide on the RE11s that the front fenders really should be rolled, but I haven’t done that yet. Stereo is an upgraded Blaupunkt Toronto 420BT (removal face) with CD/USB adapter and Blaupunkt Overdrive speakers in doors and rear parcel shelf. Steering bushing has been replaced with Mitch Leland bushing. Prototipo steering wheel - as new condition - and 917 style shift knob complete the interior. Original steering wheel, leather shift knob, and stock airbox are included. A/C is operational and blows cold. The exhaust set up passes inspection in TX and literally costs $7/year to inspect. Registration is current in TX.

    VIN sticker codes:
    220 - 40% lock diff
    286 - Intensified windshield washer
    288 - Headlight washer
    341 - Central locking system
383 - Sport seat, Left, electrical height adj.
387 - Sport seat, Right, electrical height adj.
    395 - 16” Fuchs
    424 - Automatic heating control
    425 - Rear window wiper
    454 - Automatic speed control
    473 - Front/rear spoiler
    474 - Sports shock absorbers
    650 - Sunroof

216 pics of the car are available here:

Car is located in north Dallas and is available for viewing and PPI upon request. Please PM and/or post with initial questions.

Asking $45.9k, but will entertain all serious offers. I’m going to move this car and my ’86 944 Turbo to bring is something else, so they will sell - just need the right offer.

    Yes. Current mileage is 116,953.

The only thing that might add more mileage is if I take it to me storage location - a couple miles away.

A few questions please. I take it the car has the extra Chain Tensioners Lubrication as it's a 1987 model...? Rotary A/C Compressor? When was the last Clutch replacement done and finally is it still for sale? Thanks.
