    Hey guys i didn't know where to post this, so I figured this would be a good start until it got moved to a move appropriate forum.

    I used to have a 1978 450SL that I absolutely loved (considering the price is <20K I might get another soon.) I started looking around at older SLs and I tumbled across this beauty.


    What can you tell me about this car? I love driving my cars, so I wouldn't be afraid to rack up some miles on one. My '78 SL seemed pretty solid. Where there any big problems on the 190SL? What year would be the best? I know theseare really general quiestions but I honestly don'tknow much about these cars. Hell, I didn't evenknow much about the 450SL. I just loved looking at the thing, you know?

    They are a slug and not much fun to drive, Overpriced as well because they resemble the 300SL but relatively bullet proof.

    You would not even contemplate this car after driving one of these in comparison to a later W113 car.

    Agree 100%. The 230SL-280SL, IMHO, is the pinnacle of the SL line for elegant looks. The 190SL looks dumpy.

    I'll admit the 230SL is no sports car but still fun to drive.

    Almost every 190SL has rust.

    I had in my possession and drove a 59 190sl for a few days. Neat little car.
