I've put my Verde Germoglio car up for sale to test the market. The original red cloth seat centres are just a bit too polarising so I took the car to the trimmer today to have the black leather centres put in instead. They absolutely loved the car and had a few interesting Porsches there and couldn't resist taking these snaps of the "Skittles" collection. I'm not up on the models of the impact bumper 911 so the yellow car may be a resto mod but I'll bow to wiser heads on that.

The dino looks fantastic Iain and even better since I see it a few years ago. Personally i liked the red cloth inserts but it is a acquired taste for some.

You certainly have looked after it very well and knowing the extremely high standard you set yourself in restoring this gem, it should make the new owner very happy indeed.

There are lots of cars on the market at the moment but none come close to this one in terms of quality.

Good luck and I bet you are sorry to see it go?

The Porsche is a 1974-5 ROW Carrera 2.7 MFI, it has the same engine as the 2.7 RS(type 911/83). See Carrera 2.7 by Ryan Snodgrass.

It might be harder than I thought Tony. I put a huge amount of effort into the car as you know and am getting a bit fed up of potential buyers trying to use all the old cliched lines in the book to knock the price down. The best has been "it's not been restored by one of the recognised specialists" which is frankly hilarious. The bodyshop I used WAS the restorer of choice for many years by at least one of these specialists. I just went direct and got a lot more involved to ensure all the details are correct. At least four other Dino owners sent their cars to the same shop after either seeing my finished cars in person or viewing my restoration threads online. I won't be too unhappy if it doesn't sell.......... I've got some very nice photographs of the car out of it.

I think your Dino looks gorgeous! I would interview prospective buyers with a Dino like yours. Your Dino deserves a passionate collector! Is BaT popular in the UK?

Totally agree, the standard of work on this car is extremely high [very envious] and dare i say equal to the car in the Dino Compendium, even the shut lines are perfect. There are lots of paint sprayers out there who are just as capable as any other, its all down to price. Preparation is the key to any good work and that costs

I have seen quite a few UK Dino restorations over the years by "some very well known specialists" and the standard is lacking, from paint finish to fine details. One N&B restored car at Auto Italia had well over 100 faults i could see and i am no expert by a long shot, their excuse - it wasnt finished yet...........!

The old saying "you pay peanuts and you get monkeys" is so true. My experience is, if you are able & want a restoration car then buy at the cheaper end of the market but be prepared for lots of work and money - if you want a car to just drive and enter into shows, then buy the best.

Personally I would keep the car, its going to rise in value and top quality cars like this will fetch a premium. Whoever has walked away from that car is an idiot.

I picked her up from the trimmers yesterday and had an enjoyable drive to the specialist who is dealing with the sale process for me. I like the red cloth inserts but have to say that I do prefer the black leather centre cushions.

With the red cloth centres fitted (how the car was ordered and delivered new)

And how she sits now with the black Connolly Vaumol hide. The red centres will be offered to a potential new owner and it is a fairly simple job to swap them back over. I'm pleased I had them made and put them in the car for the last 6 years or so but I do think the all black look is better with the Verde Germoglio exterior.

The modern Orange RS is choice with a Dino!
An MT6 that you can flat shift, rear steering to compensate for unweighting events, and 513 hp that revs to 9000 rpm.
When Mattias stayed over he walked past teh Orange GT3T in the garage and casually pointed "Oh, a German car"
    - Yes, and a bit more, LOL

    Offensively loud interior?
I'm pushing that boundary with P1Designs memory foam custom inserts in Gulf Orange 039 pepita .... have i gone too far?

Germination Green is so choice and your Dino knowledge has brought this car to such high standards that the new owner would have no work to do at all.

The market is going quiet again here Scott at the end of the summer driving season so I think she'll be coming back home to me. I have a new Italian in an even brighter hue of green - Verde Scandal - I'm collecting on Thursday.

So sad, 05082 in that pic is now impounded in the collection of Quicken Loans CEO, Jay Farner.

    Tony, Toni, Tony,

Of course he is a Dino lover, don't you know what is going to happen?
This is a pure excuse for the next one. He will miss it ... then while "not looking" he will find another Dino with lots of needs and then do yet another full blown restoration. Pure car guy behaviour patterns
    :)

She's off for her annual service in a few weeks then will be tucked safely away until the spring. I won't be doing any more restorations Scott as both the bodywork guy and the trimmer I used have retired.
