    I’m getting ready to have a major done and was wondering what the current rate is for the labor portion only. Number of hours. I’ve collected all the parts already.

    I’m also replacing the heat exchanger as a precaution and would like a labor estimate on that too. Number of hours.

    You may have trouble getting a shop to do labour only. They typically want to also supply the parts for obvious reasons. I've been turned down before.

    The one I had done last year was about 3.5 parts and labor with a couple other minor things and tax came up to just under 5. That was for a lock and swap though I assume another couple k for per-cylinder adjustment which I'm told I should do next time around.

    Belts, tensioners, fluids, spark plugs, cam seals, etc.....the 5 year service

    $500? or $5k?

    5k sounds high but I've never heard of anyone getting for less than $1000-$1500
