Stunning 458 Speciale for sale

There is a reason this car has been for sale for a long, long time. Maybe someone out there wants to way over pay, but to me, the color scheme and fact that it hasn't been driven should make it less than $400k, not more! I had to scroll over this car over and over again while shopping for my Speciale.

 

I saw the car along side its matching Pista stablemate. Strikingly gorgeous, but the price is flat-out ridiculous. $425 would seem about right IMO.

 

Matte black? Yuk.

 

@plastique999, the counterpart of the Bianco Italia, also Aperta.

 

I think this tricolore everywhere is too much. There is a limit to everything.

And matte black is just not cool as said above. Car will sit a long time.

 

I like it, but I would be quick to concede that the spec is not for everyone.

I stared at that car daily Jan, Feb and March. Just couldn’t get past the silly price.

 

The price on this car is way out of line probably because of the ultra low miles but if you intend on driving it, then you just paid up for nothing, the premium will vanish. I am not a fan of the matte paint but that's just me ,as it stands now it looks like a museum piece to me.

With hyperinflation, the price probably becomes reasonable sooner than we might think.

One or two years of inflation? Currently happening. 10 years of inflation? Possible. Hyperinflation? Not happening to USD unless there is a civil war, which seemed impossible on Jan 5th. Now, I am not so sure. This Speciale might be a bargain sooner than I would have anticipated!

You never know with an auction. All it takes are 2 guys lusting over the same spec and blammo!
If $575K is believed to be the new norm then every other Speciale on Autotrader would either sell within one day at their current asking prices (just because of activity of professional speculative flippers), or their prices would be raised over night.

 

What's curious to note, at these higher price levels, which have been in evidence for at least a few months, why are there not more Speciales being offered...? Even at these higher prices, owners, for the most part, are not interested in selling (approx. 800 or so Speciales made in total for USA - my estimate, fewer than 2% for sale) and that's why pricing will remain high.

 

Correct, supply and demand.
I’ve made the mistake before by letting my first one go, lusted after it, and therefore picked up my second.
It is a pinnacle car for Ferrari, and more and more, people are recognizing how special the Speciale really is.
Keeping mine, adding another.
