This looks like the car that was on Ebay last year -- I take it you're the new owner (?). I'd be curious to learn of your experience, as I was interested in it last summer. I absolutely love the color ...
Yep yep. I’m the one who bought the car. I made an offer and he took it. I had to own it. It came from Gateway in CO as you saw. I didn’t want anything else but a hardtop and the color was right! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I'm glad someone bought it! Have you had to do alot of sorting out to get it to where you want it to be? I remember calling one of the salesmen at Gateway and they really didn't know anything about the car. I hope you got a good deal. Post some pics here!
You bet. I made a lowball offer and the owner took it. Sat for about 2 years. Not sure when it didn’t sell. Car is great. Does have a slight miss at low RPM but the more I drive it the more it smooths out. That old gas was in it for 2 years. Bought the car in early February and already out over 600+ miles in it. My father puts mikes in his 308 GTB. These cars need to be driven. I’ll post up more pics. First thing I did was replace timing belts and tensioners. Image Unavailable, Please Login Don’t mind the messy garage Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I'm glad it's finally getting driven again and in the hands of someone who can do things like belt changes. The color really suits the understated lines of the Mondial, esp. with the original wheels (despite the tire issues). I almost regret turning away from this one last summer, eventually finding a 3.2 with a more certain history. But aesthetically the early coupes in non-red colors are the high point aesthetically for the Mondial series, IMO.
Yep yep. I’m trying to find a good set of Ferrari 16” wheels to get rid of the TRX tires. What a pain. I love the color. I also love the maroon color. I have a ton of maintenance records and nothing about belts. To be honest the belts don’t look original but the tensioners looked original. Totally warn out. Glad I replaced them ASAP. Superformance in the UK has a 16" repro set available that looks OEM but solves the tire selection problem.
All 4 for $1,180 2 15x7 and 2 15x8. I wonder what the shipping would be to the US?!? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
That's awesome. One of if not the best moments I had with my Mondial coupe was taking my Dad out for a ride and him driving it.
I agree. My father and uncle got me into these cars. My uncle worked at a Ferrari dealer for years and my father had a few. At a young age I fell in love with the vintage cars. I’ve drivin newer Ferraris and the romance of driving isn’t the same. To me anyway. His 308 was a wonderful car and a Mondial was in my budget as it only 33. Having him drive it last month when he was in town visiting was the highlight so far of me having it. We had to make a Walgreens run and I tossed him the keys and all he said was “why not.” Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
