Well known Ferrari Club member, real car guy, ex racer and top bloke. RIP. Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
Oh bugger I first met Phil in 1994 in Targa Tas. He was a gentleman then and every other time we met, he still remembered me as the bloke in the P1800 that he let over/undertake him(365) on the inside on either St Mary's or Elephant Pass. 'Strewth RIP mate.
Bugger, lovely bloke, shared a pit area with him back in '02 with him driivng his Queen Mary (?) very well at Mallala. I had no idea who he was other than his name badge but he was incredibly nice and a pleasure to talk with RIP Phil
Great colour too. A pale blue. Brilliant and not forking red. And yes a really nice guy. RIP Phil. All the best to his friends and family.

Phil was 3rd in the 1974 Gold Star drivers championship in the MR5 behind the two Lola T330 Chev powered cars of Max Stewart and KB..
RIP Phil. lovely bloke and enthusiast. Took me for a ride in his QM and I was amazed at how deceptively quick and smooth he was. Wonderful talent.
He chased me across the border into Qld on a AFR Rally in his QM and I still remember it as one of the best drives I’ve had in Horse; and that was over 30 years ago. He was relentless in pursuit! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I'm still recovering from this news, up until a few weeks ago Phil was joining us on GAD. One of the finest gentlemen of the Ferrari V12 community and a regular at McKay and Lowe rallies. He was a wonderful man, always smiling, extremely modest about his racing achievements and generous with advice and assistance. Every year at Phillip Island Historics, he would be in my garage brightening the day. We missed him this year due to Covid and now we'll be missing him every year. Life can be so sad.
Nicely said Ian Very sad news, I remember my first national rally to Adelaide in the early '90's, going up to his house in the Adelaide Hills with Nigel P & Simon H & the girls, he & his wife Chris was it? were wonderful & generous hosts, made me feel as a new member so welcome, such a loverly man, loved cars & any talk of them. I remember another national Adelaide Rally some years later him being very complimentary of my track results & me feeling very chuffed at that.
