Honestly I do not know. 690 hp for the “entry level” mclaren is pretty substantial. Let’s see how much ho LB has.

I saw the artura- it was a nice car.

The F8 and 720S are direct competitors. The F8 is a response to the 720S.
The LB will compete with McLarens v6 hybrid.

Great! So in positioning it’s 812>f8>lb? It’s all confusing

812 is a different thing and price point. All are sportscars, but McLaren has nothing that really competes with the 812.

690 "mclaren hp" mean at least 750 on dyno, probably more..so I hope Ferrari squeezes the engine for a damn time

    a weak response

Just marketing and way over priced so they just sit until the dealer relents and prices properly. Same would happen in this case and I doubt they would be truly limited like the 812 VS.

    They're not there.... oops! LOL

Also wanted to add.... usually these "special versions" come out around 3/4yrs after the regular version and run for 2 yrs. Will the F8 be produced for 4/5yrs? Will Ferrari produce the F8 into 2025?...it's doesn't look like it with the spy photos and development they are doing but only time will tell. Anyway I do not see a special version of the F8 like Ferrari has done with the Pista, Speciale, 430 Scuderia, 360 CS..... because Ferrari is NOT racing the F8. Time will tell.

If the F8 VS is introduced, which I highly doubt but in the era of chasing corporate profits anything is possible, it undermines the value of special cars. In the past, special models were limited to a single upgrade per model. The 360 - CS Challenge, F430 - Scuderia, 458- Speciale, 488- Pista . The pattern was disrupted with the introduction of the F8 which was an evolutionary upgrade of the 488 but not as special as the Pista. A VS of the F8 would now be exploiting the V8 model paradigm. For it to be special, a simple improvement over the F8 would be insufficient. It would have to offer a more significantly compelling car than the Pista. If so, the time to sell the Pista is now.

Id agree that the f8 is a great car but not 720s level. Only the pista is. Ferrari is behind in that segment

  12. I don't think anyone has anything that really competes with the 812 GTO or VS.

    Aventador SVJ and that’s that

  14. Not really.

    The 812 is a front-engined GT car.

    The Aventador is a mid-engined sports/track car.

The closest might by the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, but then its V12 is a twin-turbo unit.

I agree, if they introduced an F8VS now, but how about in 12 months? I still see a chance for an F8VS, even if it may be in 2022.

Here's another way to look at this.

From what has been advertised by Ferrari, after the 812VS and 812VSA, that's it, no more ICE cars (road going), all new releases will be hybrid from this point forward..meaning electric+ICE (or ICE+Turbo)

They are very different. Sure twin turbo mid engine cars but that’s all they have in common and that’s a very good thing.

    It's not a GT and Ferrari markets is a a front-mid engine super-sports car.

With the F8 after the Pista, Ferrari has put its line-up development in an unprecedented situation - so the past is not very helpful to guess their next move (they may not know themselves, and decide at the last moment... just what they did for the F8, actually).

So if I’m looking to buy a Ferrari in 12 months. Which one do I buy? Little brother which the company is banking on for his future or the special edition?

No interest in the LB. It would have to blow me away to change my mind.
