the European rain diverter was the same through production.... very early US-models had the European one too, which was recommended to be changed to the new US-model one in 1975 (see your technical letter) according to the parts catalogue for US-models until 1977 and from 1978 two more versions....
The purpose of the rain diverter is to protect mainly the spark plugs from water. If you you do not have very effective rubber seals on the spark plugs it is absolutely necessary otherwise you will notice misfire at rain. If you do not drive your GT4 under heavy rain or have very tight rubber sealing collars can live without diverter.
My UK gt4 has one that looks like the technical note, but not like any of the photos of the US ones. I guess we just don't get enough rain in the UK to warrant fitting all that fancy metalwork.
Unrelated but came across this on birdman’s site and was curious if accurate. Mine is a month after yours: Feb 1975. Is it your understanding that our series have the euro timing and cams? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have owned this car for almost 20yrs and I forgot more than I know now!. But I think yes. Keep in mind the US cars had a monster thermo reactor muffler. So I would take that 255hp with a grain of salt
Just FYI in case anyone else is looking. Located one of these at Algar in PA. Really nice people and price was reasonable. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So how does that Timevalve exhaust sound? I wanted something a little more aggressive sounding but think the Tubi's are too much. Was thinking the Superformance.
Was going to ask the same. I understand the sound through a stainless system is different. Also did you notice any performance gains?
