Dear Gentlemen, does anyone know in which other vehicles the heater valve and the engine mount from the 400i were also installed ? Best regards Zdenek Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is it not possibly synonymous of a Fiat or something like that. I would like to buy these, but find the price as Ferrari spare part very expensive. I was hoping someone would recognize these components from another car and I could then purchase them from another parts supplier.
Good day, You would need to check the diameter, height, and thread diameter and pitch, but Cicognani has a mount very similar for 60 Euro http://www.cicognaniguarnizioni.it/Ferrari-163/365-gt4-2-2--400-gt-400i-163-l32/supporti-differenziale-_cad._-16332410_7259 As for the heater valve... I thought I saw these on 308's and Boxers?... but I could be wrong Cheers, Sam Image Unavailable, Please Login
The valve is indeed expensive, but the mounts are approx 100GBP each which is is not horrendous for a vintage car.
I did some additional checking and the Motor Mount looks to be the same as used on the Daytona as well. Eurospares lists the mount to be 106 mm in diameter. Interestingly, Cicognani has the Daytona mount for 60 Euro: http://www.cicognaniguarnizioni.it/Ferrari-163/365-gtb4-daytona-163-l20/supporti-cambio-e-motore-_cad._-16320410_6885 Cheers, Sam
The valve is the same but you need to alter / transfer the riveted nut and pinch bolt to the new valve. Not a 3min job.
Depends on how handy you are but should be doable. The Fiat X1/9 with AC heater valve is from what I can see equal and should fit without any mods. Hard to find though. https://www.midwest-bayless.com/p-9547-4351765-oe-heater-valve-ac-fiat-bertone-x19-all-oe-nos.aspx
Just adding some info here for future reference. 400 engine mounts are 106mm. The diff mounts are 86mm. An email to Cicognani has confirmed they only sell the 86mm mounts. This is a shame as €60 is substantially cheaper than the £100-115 that Superformance, Maranello, etc charge. Does anyone have any thoughts on what difference 20mm would make if you did use the smaller ones as engine mounts? Sent from my SM-G935F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I wouldn't... The oil hose that comes from the oil filter and feeds the engine is really close to the chassis, additional slope could end up as a major oil failure. See Ak Jim photo, you can even see that the hose has been rubbing against the chassis : On my car I have replaced this fitting by the one from the oil cooler (with a sharp bent), this implied to revert the oil cooler and use longer hoses. This sharp bent fitting does clear the hose away from the chassis, but that's still a very tight fit (0.5cm). I would not take a chance in a less beefy engine mount.
Not sure what you mean. To my eyes they look exactly alike. Ferrari vs. Opel Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks @Arvid , these are indeed an exact match to my own 400i valve. I have to say however that on the 365 the valve is different and bolted on the engine block (not on the firewall like on my 400i). I did not check on others cars, but there must have been some variations. Maybe also that some mechanics did replace/relocate the original valve as the access is quite troublesome. For the record, that's how it is mounted on my own car: Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's in a thight spot for sure and I will have to change mine this season. They are originally Ranco valves - Ranco H28-104 is the number stamped on them. Isn't Ranco an American brand ? They are probably used on American built cars but which ?
Not an expert on all American cars but all of the ones I’m familiar with don’t regulate the heat by controlling water flow but instead mix cold air with the heated air from the heater core. They are usually called blend doors because they look like a door and blend unheated air with heated air.
Thanks,I didn't know that. I thought maybe GM or GMC had same part since Opel was under the GM umbrella.
All the factory ones I've seen have a pinch bolt in a threaded bung that the cable goes through. You can't connect the stock cable to that lever with a pin hole in the end
