From what I heard last year there was lots of expansion planned after the threat of moving went away. Government had committed to infrastructure improvements which is allowing expansion to proceed. I heard the prancing horse statue in the roundabout has recently moved or is moving due to changes in that area as well.

Interesting. Given where Ferrari is, its pretty land locked by roads and other buildings. not much space to expand into other than their front parking lot, across from the Maranello palace... or go verticle across the Abetone road way and the Planet Hotel / Cavallino complex. by the F-1 factory. It would be a shame to impact the classic factory gateway... where you go for factory tours.

The new development centre for powertrains will be within the main campus. The four new buildings mentioned in the first post however will be on the opposite site of the Fiorano track on a currently empty area. There seems to be some logistical reasons behind that. So I wonder if the aim is to move the Scaglietti plant closer to the main facilities to improve processes. Currently the Scaglietti plant (body shop) is located in Modena so basically a few more kilometres away.

it's got to be a PITA to truck bodies from Modena to Maranello - while the mileage is not far... the traffic is terrible. last trip we were there from central Modena to our Hotel - Palace ( next to Ferrari ) was about 35 - 40 min....mostly just stop lights and merging on roads that were backed up.

all that being said I would actually like to live in Maranello - its a nice little town.

I liked it also. I believe Maranello is 12 kilometers from Modena.

Use the tangenziale (ring road) on the west side, and there will be zero traffic lights, exit Fiorano, go left to continue to the Maranello Palace. Takes less than 15 minutes (unless you drive a Fiat 500).

From the train station to Maranello palace took us closer to 40 min... non stop traffic ( this was July ) and I was in a Fiat station wagon... but I agree once out of Modeana its quickish.

The renderings look very modern and cleanly designed. Neat how they overlook the track.

Also in Gestione Sportiva there is a lot going on. As far as i know the construction on the right will be home to the new simulator and the sporting management of the F1 team.
I have no clue what the bigger construction site on the left (next to the Fiorano bridge) is going to be.

The new building next to the bridge will be the new home of the F1 Clienti department.

I keep looking for apartment sales in Foriano next to the track... overall the prices are pretty reasonable.

I would rather think the LMH program will be based in Maranello. Part of the reason for looking into additional racing programs is the huge headcount in Gestione Sportiva which can't be utilized in F1 only due to the new budget restrictions.

given the past - Michelotto is where they usually produce sports racers...so to me that seems where it will happen, development in Maranello, but production at Michelotto.
