Exactly. That's why in my example, I said there is a separate "Ferrari" section for all of you that want to complain about Cher and her bandmates talking about Ferrari too much, and that they should focus on their music only. (by talking more about Ferrari, Instead of focusing on their music only.) Want to talk about Tires, Penalties, Tracks, Power Units, Times, KERS, Toto? You're in the right forum. Want to talk about politics in F1 here in Ferrarichat? Be our guest. Here
Fine. What about the following TTT threesome: Trump, Toto and Thunberg discussing a comeback of the V10 engines in F1??? What box you're gonna tick?
hahahaha! As long as they only are discussing technical stuff and not about their own political agendas, you're perfect. Here, I'll kick it off. For Trump For Toto For Greta You guys are all smart, you know what content is not allowed. It's like porn, you know it when you see it. Cheers
The thing Paul is I believe you are more of an educator than certain other mods. I hardly ever see u come in and BOOM ban! U tend to try speak reason first. Not sure what’s the best approach but some other mods just come in and lay down the law ! Boom 7 day ban! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I appreciate the kind words; in defense of the other actions, I don't frequent this forum as much as others - so my patience has not hit the redline. To all the detractors, you may be surprised that I might AGREE with your viewpoints. On purely practical grounds, we need to keep the F1 forum politics-free for the exact reason you all are arguing for.
Do you think we operate in a vacuum? 90%+ of the bans handed out here have involved a discussion between mods before the trigger is pulled. It's not a snap decision. Just look at the time delta between most posts that get a user banned, and the actual ban. D
No I don’t but the same way users should follow the rules it might be good , at times, for mods to hear feedback. Some might be constructive and useful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is always an explanation of why a member was banned (and for how many days) in a thread where a post is deleted. It’s not like it happens every day. There are 20 mods from all walks of life and we do not work in a vacuum. The mods are supportive of all free speech as long as there is no profanity, no R-rated or worse porn, and no personal attacks. The free speech also has to be in the right area so that most of the members can come here to enjoy the cars and related content without sorting through stressful items of conflict, trolling, and arguments. Do not expect the mods to read the rules like the pledge of allegiance before each school day. The mods are busy enough protecting members from spammers, scammers, and phishers... not to mention helping to keep homicide and battery to a minimum between members after school let’s out. You all would be shocked - I tell you - to see what gets filtered out from Nigeria each day and the new member posts we have to review. Bottom line is the mods like F-chat for the car content, the camaraderie of Tifosi, the assisting others with fixes, the racing, and the get togethers for drives and drinks. That’s the primary focus. We have a P&R area so members when they get bored of cars can go vent about other life issues without affecting those that AREN’T bored with the cars. Hate Trunp or Biden, no problem - take it there. Hamilton’s or LeClerc stance on social areas, no problem - take it there... I think you will find the mods and members are all on the same page with keeping F-chat an exciting and getaway place to visit for all the right reasons. Robb
They are but & it would be interesting to publish such stats; it seems that some hand bans more often and or harsher ones. One explanation could be because certain mods are in the same time zone as the users in questions or frequent a certain section more ...but also imo some mods like urselves are more active in the community than others and they tend to know the users maybe more on a personal level hence sometimes it would appear that more demagogy/leniency exist in some mods. I could be wrong of course! That being said u are all doing this for free, with passion, integrity and doing a great job. It’s not an easy task and without you guy this would be a real **** show so kudos for all your hard work behind the scenes to regulate and protect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Been busy with Consultancy, backed up by the highest of awards, let alone peer reviews . . . Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
I posted a picture in P&R of michelle Obama showing the bulge we have all seen and Biden was trying to grab it. It was hilarious. I got banned. Also a picture of the new health transgender dude and the caption If you don't think I'm a woman you can suck my ****. Got banned for that one also. Now I'm gun shy and will submit a photo to Rob before posting if I have any doubt
Maybe if it was that oth........ OH!! Almost made a P&R comment [allagedly]!! I would have been banned But then again, I am not a sno....... THERE is go again!!!!!
Feel free to go after any and all political figures. Your memes and photos are VERY funny. I did not see your Obama post so can’t offer help there. Just gotta keep the language in check and avoid anything over pg-13... I can assure Jaime there are no snowflakes pulling mod duty. Enjoy. Robb
Listen I like the guy because he was fair to me and at times also banned me so I don’t want to pass for a hater. That being said I did tell him he bans very easily without demagogy at times... I been a recipient on both sides and I think he does a good job but just bans very very quickly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Didn't they used to ban people from a specific forum, but not the whole F Chat? I still don't remember what I said that got me banned. Maybe I was answering a comment in the Alert section and forgot which forum I was posting in. I don't care about the teams any more...I'm just following certain drivers to see if they'll survive.
John, We can do THREAD bans, or site bans. You can request that we block your access to the P&R forum, but we do not ban someone in a specific forum. (I suppose, removing your access to P&R without you asking would constitute a permanent ban from that sub-forum, but I don't recall any instances in the past few years where we've done that, and certainly none since the software change to the xenforo format we use now.
