I cannot eat McDonalds anymore, it destroys my stomach/intestines everytime. Probably something to do with working there as a teen for 2 years, and eating way, way too much from McDonald's. Now I don't eat any fast food because I know how bad it is nutritionally.
Quick idea yesterday. Already cooked frozen small-medium shrimp. Did an hour or so marinade in basic seasonings as well as olive oil and a dash of white wine vinegar. I feel like I'm missing something, but it also had the liquid from the thawed shrimp. Green Giant red lentil, green pea and chick pea bag mix. Cooked that, then greased a pan with butter and threw in the shrimp to heat them up a bit and give them some color. Then added to the lentil mix and served. It came out tasting really really good. Surprisingly. Note: Yes I did have a boilover. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The real reason is it just really is bad! However as with many things it is a guilty pleasure. The Big Mac is a burger I get once every 3 years basically. My father funny enough ate Subway twice a day (minimum) for an extended period of time (3-4 months). He can't even walk into a Subway the smell makes him sick. @tomc yes I regret it about 30 minutes after.
I think the GF saw the endless "Big Mac with Bacon" and wanted one. Marketing works I guess. It still sucks btw Jason!
Sounds good! I want to learn to use Lentils more in my day to day...I really want to try making Indian Dosa as well.
I get McDonalds too much. They had a promotion for a free coke glass with the purchase of a value meal. I like the glasses and the only place to get them was McDonalds........................ Also just got coupons for McDonalds. Might be dinner tonight.
What was in the marinade? Acidic marinades can make shrimp mushy if they're marinated too long. Add enough garlic to your shrimp? I find that shrimp can never have enough garlic. I also like to cook shrimp in an olive oil / butter mix. Image Unavailable, Please Login Brisket udon. Leftover brisket that I had made a month or so ago. Boiled it. Used the meat and broth to pour over the noodles. Added a dash of fish sauce, dried cilantro, and crushed dried hot peppers left over from the summer. T

It sure does. And thanks to your marketing, that's probably where I'm going for lunch tomorrow. It looks like an Indian Quesadilla/Crepe. How would you make yours?
Decided to have chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. After my post office adventure, I didn't feel like dealing with people. Is this week over yet? Come on spring!

When does spring arrive in the Pacific Northwest? We've had a pretty mild & sunny winter thus far. I'm getting itchy for spring to arrive, so we can get some veggies in the ground. As of now, only the spinach & kale & oregano (which is growing like a weed!) have any semblance of "green" Last night was use-what's-in-the-fridge/pantry night. Spring usually starts in April. Sometimes March can be nice. Spring/summer is the only reason I still live here. Thinking fish n chips tonight. I don't know why they don't serve combos on take out. They have all the items from the combos on the take out menu. So I'll have to order a bunch of extras.
Forgot to post the Christmas dinner I made at my mom’s house. Filets, mashed potatoes, parmesan brussel sprouts, and marsala mushrooms. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It was plenty. I didn't use real garlic. Plus since it was already cooked from frozen I just wanted to add a little color and temp to them before adding to the mix.
