Happy to do it, wish more owners would make videos. The videos by the Mags and YouTubers are nice but there’s something about when an actual Owner makes a video that is special.
Great job with the camera. Not easy to hold it steady under that kind of acceleration. In my all-too-short but sweet demo ride last week, I tried to notice whether the F8 front lightens up during hard acceleration. I conclude it does, but it’s minor compared to my 458, which doesn’t take off nearly as fast .
Thanks for sharing your video. I had to settle for a C-8 ride today but your video's confirm my decision on ordering the F-8.
You keep getting blessed... So stretch it to the max! Very kind and cool of you. Like I said, I live vicariously through you and your F8. Thank you again and I hope we all get to meet one day and enjoy a cool drive together for a few days through some cool roads and share some good food/drinks and beautiful venues. Thank the Boss for me, she did a great job holding the camera. My wife saw the video and was screaming louder than yours and she wasn't even in the car. I guess, she won't be coming along when I get mine. She hates the GT2. I was hoping the less "racing" appearance would sway her to think of the F8 as a more "civilized" car, but I think she has already set her mind with this video.
I have been told that it's being held "hostage" by US Customs (at NY port). As far as I understand it has been there for a few weeks already (5-6). I am guessing between Customs and COVID, it has taken longer than usual.
I don't know why she gets so worried/scared. She drives the CLS 63s and the GLE 63s. The GLE is her DD.
Very cool! Love the video!! Mine is supposed to come off the line on Jan 9, so I’m hoping to have it sometime in mid/late March.
My wife drove the demo Spider at FOS last weekend and really enjoyed it. I think the relative lack of noise and slightly more sedate feel compared to the 458 were big pluses. Oh, and I stuck a piece of wood under the gas pedal, kind of works like a third world throttle limiter, lol!
So here is the interesting part of her driving the F8 in the first place. We were talking about the F8 not being a convertible like my 458 and I gave her the reasons I went with a coupe. Then I said but the 911 will be a convertible and I have no issues with you driving that on a nice day. Then I said (I know big mouth) for some reason I don't have a problem with you driving the Porsche but I do with you driving the F8. She said well since I own half of the F8 I should be able to drive it. Good point so I said ok you can drive it, and that's the rest of the story.
I want my wife to feel she is entitled to share the driver experience, so I’m looking for a car that she’ll be able to drive. Unlike the 458, which I think she’s a bit intimidated of, the F8 is just an easier, smoother, more refined car to drive. I like that.
