Might be something to do with your claim history? My total insurance for 2 cars (one ordinary, one SIV) with Shannons is not much more than your ‘saving’! Zero claims.
Oh I dunno, the HUGE torque steer in the ones I drove felt like it came from the rear Carl was lurking around at the time
Nup nothing to do with it. With Shannons I've only claimed on the 330 with the wallaby strike way back. I had the 'roo strike and 'screen in the Datto last year with a different mob. I don't see how that can change the same milage amount/restriction from one rego to the other....so the new thing is going on crappy club until I get as wealthy as moretti.
This is a lovely looking piece of kit: https://collectableclassiccars.com.au/private-sellers/brabham-bt18b
Yeah I like it, can see me selling the 355 in a few years to settle down having fun @QR each month with the GEAR club
This is very nice, great history, I have a friend who ran the ex Denny Holm BT6 at gear days, great car to watch on circuit before it was sold into the UK.
The US could improve their "gas" mileage by changing to imperial, this truck would get 12 miles per gallon instead of 10 https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a34465100/2021-ram-1500-trxs-gas-mileage-is-hilariously-awful/?source=nl&utm_source=nl_rdt&utm_medium=email&date=102420&utm_campaign=nl21792270&utm_term=AAA%20--%20High%20Minus%20Dormant%20and%2090%20Day%20Non%20Openers
Yes, done in the US , Robb had them coated before sending to me Be nice to see IF they do drop the heat inside the engine bay
+1 in my experience, it's more effective than exhaust wrap, especially if the headers are coated inside as well. Another benefit of coating the inside is the headers will never wear out.
+1 Eurosuspect had the inside and outside of his turbo manifolds and turbos ceramic coated and it was an amazing difference in the heat reduction in the engine bay of his twin turbo VZ Clubsport R8. Before ceramic coating them, they were wrapped in exhaust wrap and after a hard run, with the bonnet open, that car would radiate with heat for hours afterwards. I told him all that is going to happen over time is that heat is going to cook the wiring and everything else in that engine bay. With the bonnet closed, standing around 1m away from the front of the car you could feel the heat that's how hot that engine bay was. So the car was trucked back to Townsville and those turbos and manifolds were removed and sent down to Brisbane to have them ceramic coated inside and out. A massive difference in heat reduction in that engine bay and it was money well spent.
NOCWYT But that's the same sort of difference I experienced. Tim from black stallion, who did the engine rebuild and fitted the now ceramic coated manifolds, was similarly surprised at what a difference it made. I believe some "ceramic coatings" aren't as good as others. Moretti probably got the cheapest option which won't work.
