    Took my '15 458 Spider for routine service today and was told that the replacement air bag is in stock and they will replace. Any thoughts or experience with the whole air bag recall?

    My 2015 458 Spider Air Bag was replaced before I took delivery of the car last January. No issues as far as I can tell.

    I have a 2013 and it falls into the recall. I believe model years 2010-2015 fall into this category (from an FCA email I received), but you can check on the link below. I typed in my VIN then used Google translator to figure out what the heck it says.

    I had mine replaced last year (2013 458 Spider). Was painless as the dealer did it when I took my car in for the yearly service.

    My 2014 458 Spider had the air bag recall last year when I took it in for service. Everything taken care of with no worries.

    I believe 30 million cars made by various manufacturers world wide are affected that were fitted with Takata air bags.
    The reason for the recall is that the Takata air bag,when it went off could cause shrapnel to fly everywhere and in some cases people were killed.

    Mine was replaced twice! The first replacement batch was also defective!

    I have a 15 Italia which had it's passenger airbag replaced approx. 8 mo. ago. It was a painless procedure! Well done a the dealership. The recall extended to the 488 I believe. I too was concerned,but it was a needles worry.

    My dash top came back wrinkly after the change. Dealer said this was common and can’t be repaired only replaced. After looking at it for a while I had it reupholstered by a high end shop.

    Seems like a weak excuse for poor work. As you saw, the dash could be repaired. Send the dealer your reupholstery bill and demand they pay it.
