I’m glad a moderator started the thread this usually leads to very passionate discussions lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For Enzo Era Ferrari, I'm not shy to say I'm very ignorant, so I will keep my mouth shut and let more knowledgeable folks speak - so I can read and learn something.
Enzo era could be the f40 which is the last he saw but also the gto (not 288) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
C&D was trying to pick the GOAT, of course that's impossible - so they just picked all the possible ones. 4 Ferrari made the cut. Discuss...
Folks like calling Enzo Era - Daytona and before, I selfishly like to coin Early Enzo and Late Enzo (The F355 and anything after Luca era) I know purists will burn me at the stake!
I'm just happy to see the 360 getting some love. Many articles seem to treat it like a red-headed stepchild when it comes to Ferrari.
This.....while not a NART Spider or a 250 SWB it's the Enzo era Ferrari that is still practical and beautiful at the same time. And I am not biased in the least...okay maybe just a little Image Unavailable, Please Login
Because it is in the eyes of many...which is great for people like me looking at picking up a gated version at a good value ( not necessarily low price). Another orphan is the 348 which I tried to buy the perfect one, but someone beat me to it!
The F360 was Ferrari’s Porsche 911. It was the birth of the modern Ferrari. At $139,900 when introduced, it created more first-time Ferrari owners than any other car. Ferrari might not even be here today if not for this car. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thanks for bringing this up. But C&D is trying to drive sales, and nothing wrong with that. To mention GOATs without bringing up the 911 is a joke.
They have a few 911s on there, the 1995 and the 2018 GT3. There are a pile of other Porsches too including the 928, 959, Cayman, Carrera GT and 918. The 360 for me is what got me intrested in Ferrari. I never particularly liked the look of the earlier cars, although they've grown on me now. I loved everything about the 360, it seemed like the first Ferrari that not only looked good, drove well, but was also reliable and relatively reasonable to maintain.
Love my 360 sunroof/stick! But I never have liked the F40. First saw one at a car show at Southfork Ranch in the late 90's. Just a little to brutish looking. It was the F50 that finally made me take the halo cars seriously. I'll take a naturally aspirated V12 over a turbo V8 any day. And beautiful and graceful bodywork too.
Since I havent driven any of them I cant really have an educated opinion. But as far as looks (which is really my top metric) none would be on my GOAT list
I think a 360 Modena is a great Ferrari, namely with a manual transmission. I feel tempted everytime I see one, and the Spider is particularly sexy But to be frank, Car & Driver must surely be looking to generate some controversy and buzz, because if you are to compile an ultra short list of just 4 of the best Ferraris ever made to this day, I suspect 999 out of 1.000 people, Ferrari owners or not, would never mention the 360 Modena as one of the top 4 Ferraris since 1947. Kind regards, Nuno.
Since I have a 308 GTSi and a 360 Spyder 6 speed, I would agree, the 308 for the iconic styling, the 360 for being a true drivers car without a steering wheel full of buttons.. I rode in an F40 and it really felt like a race car someone decided to put a license plate on..
308 for Styling alone!!!! 45+ years and counting and still one of the most beautiful cars ever designed.
Interesting. Once I got my 360, I never drove my 308 again, so I sold it. The 360 is better at everything than a 308. Plus, the 308 is a nightmare to sort out. Bad speedometer? I was able to find no fix for it. There is a years-old thread about a solution, and nothing has ever come to market for it. Always reporting progress, but never providing a solution. Mine was 20 MPH optimistic. It was a joke. Bad AC? Good luck. I came to hate that car. Seriously hate it. And I like the 360's styling better than the 308 too.
