OK I need to recant my statement about the seats not being as heavy as I thought. I must have been excited to get it out so easy that it didn't feel as heavy as I thought at the time.

Weighed one and that sucker was...... 59 lbs!!!! (with rails and motor attached)

So my idea to swap them at some point in the future still stands. If I only had room I could take them out and put in some nice racing carbon seats and store the OEM for the future with their perfect bolsters in tact. It would be nice to drop 75 lbs out of the car! :)

Considering a CF Racing seat can weigh well under 20lb. thats a considerable weight reduction per seat. Just be sure it is compatible with the car's OEM restraint system..

Wow, that's cheap for ANYTHING that bolts to a Ferrari! My Recaro sliders for 911 race car were $125 I think. Looks like it will raise you up close to 2" though, Recaro's mounted right to (in my case) floor mounts directly...

We've made a lot of office chairs out of car seats at our shop. You just need a donor office chair, some angle iron, and a good welder fabricator to do it.

They look the business to me. I would love to open the door and see that stainless work holding the carbon! I need to figure out how to hide my OEM seats though! The wife would never understand.

The websites seems to mention there are plenty of custom order options. Maybe they have some tan hides?

Why not get the factory CF race seats?

I would if I could find some that were competitive with regards to cost. I think new they would be >10K yes? I could spend 5 and have the solution which preserves my OEM seats, saves 60 lbs too. This seems to me a more $en$ible choice presently.

The reason I added all the links and info in this one thread is so i can revisit this when I get the itch again! :)
