    They are a real blight on society.

    Nearly all pubs and clubs make more out of the pokies than on anything else. Very sad situation.

    Good! Any club that has gambling as a business model can go to Hell. The gummint makes huge tax revenue off them, so remains silent, but the social cost far outweighs the tax benefit. If people want a hit of dopamine, make the machines 10c a go.

    Couldn't agree more regarding pokies. I remember Wynnum/Manly leagues club on the verge of bankruptcy and along came the pokies and boom, club doubled in size. It's just not right praying on venerable people!!

    Yes, we usually try to avoid the blanket style as we find they are a PITA. Prefering the "Pooltex" which stretch over the pool like a trampoline. But would do either for you mate!

    yes but so do the others. There is a big push (which I support) to get rid of them. ALL the clubs are lobbying gov’t for relief on the Gaming Tax. Hopefully the shutdown may have broken some of their addiction but I suspect most have just moved online...

    Pokies are tax on the stupid.
    The closure of clubs has "forced" a lot of gamblers to look to other forms of gambling (online platforms), it will be intersting to see what percentage goes back to pokies.
