Can anyone help? I am looking for a correct set of seat belts for my RHD 1973 UK spec 246 gts. Not sure if they are static or inertia reel type? Regards. Jim.
Can't speak to UK specific cars, but I believe static belts were replaced with retractible ones in 1972 with the E-series. I would think the switch would be covered in The Dino Compendium.
UK cars had 3 point static belts. The only change to the set up was the switch from the airline style lap receiver lift type buckle to the more modern stalk type receiver with the red plastic push button release on the centre console which happened sometime in 1973.
Kevin, Thanks for your reply. I already have a pair of original Klippan receivers,(red push type) which came with the basket case car. The seatbelts were taken off many years ago and presumably lost. I would like to try and source a pair of Klippan static belts to suit the receivers. Regards, Jim.
Here are the red push button style Klippan belts for a DeLorean. Still available new NOS. They’re retractable but you’d get the hardware and webbing to make a set of static belts. only buy the RH/Passenger side as they don’t have the extra wiring for the seatbelt light. RH and LH are the same otherwise. https://store.delorean.com/p-10094-seat-belt-kit-rh.aspx https://store.delorean.com/c-398-8-7-6-seat-belts.aspx
