Wow ... congrats
Well done you, just curious really but I wondered how you feel about having a plane with basically two car engines. Secondly how are they on fuel and what range can they get?
Lol the engines are made by GE, same guys who powered the 767 for American Airlines I used to fly... They produce 2,050 lbs of thrust each, enough to cruise at 395 knots at FL430 burning 625 lbs /hr (leaders in their class). 1225 mile NBAA range. so I’m good...
Well that was quick. Canceled the HondaJet sale. Come to find out the damn thing can't be fueled even CLOSE to capacity - which was needed for the 1000 NM range trips I normally fly. 2850 fuel capacity but due to a design defect it can only get "maybe" 2700 lbs in it. Same as my old Mustang! SO its hello M2..... factory demonstrator with every available option including Satphones and Wifi. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
3400 lbs real world capacity. 1000 NM westbound against a 100 knot headwind needed Key West to Dallas is regular run. airplane has 1300 range high speed cruise, 1500 range long range cruise and it has a potty...
Mark- I can relate to that. We flew non-stop from Sacramento, CA to Ft Walton Beach, FL in F-111s and landed with ~8000 lbs of fuel remaining (out of 34,200 lbs). Going back, though, we could not make it non-stop because of the winds and had to stop in Clovis, NM or Las Vegas, NV for fuel.
When I was flying the Columbia to east coast for fishing tournaments or Challenge Club Racing it was always non-stop there and 1-stop back. Had some great flights there with the wind. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Range is the best speed mod there is...no question. And altitude is the best weather prevention device. I need both ...or at least the best combination of both I can find. Thought about a CJ3+ but can’t justify the extra 4 million.
