I don't think you are, but even if you were good for you. My father was a janitor. I don't judge a person's character on their profession* (or if they like a Portofino, or if they own a F40.) *Well maybe if you were an assassin that took jobs killing innocent people.
I don't think anybody thinks you are a fraud, it's just I think people saw you pull out a ruler. That's always a fuax pas among these parts.
Ohh I most definitely believe you own 458 and F40 for the record, definitely seem the type. One you think you could be in those forums mostly having meaningful conversations? Just a thought.
Ferrari-lite, you know, the ones any old plebeian can get. To be true ferraristi, one must at least ACT elite....not like those 348 commoners who fix their own cars and call it fun... sjd
If you own a 348, so have a lot of things counting against you. 1) No power steering - yeah the 348 has been said to have the best steering of any Ferrari ever, (maybe even ) - all cars, but you'll hurt your hands during parking. 2) You don't even have a paddle DCT man, you row your own gears in a gated? - you Luddite. 3) You don't even have a computer driving for you, what are you Evel Knievel? 4) Normally aspirated is so over-rated, that high pitch whine? C'mon - you know vacuum cleaner sounds coming from your speakers is where it's at. 5) Who is Pininfarina? 6) You wrench on your own car? Commoner you. I bet you know how to do your own engine out huh? These uppity proletariats. 7) Your car doesn't even have GPS, why even bother driving? 8) The SF90Hybrid/ upcoming Full electric Ferrari is where's it's at - now those are 'true' Ferrari. 9) A V8? - what a joke. It's missing 4 cylinders, buddy. 10) I mean, they don't even allow 348s to compete in the Ferrari Concours events, they have a separate "Faux Ferrari-lite" competition. Ferrari innagurated the Ferrari Challenge with a 348, what were they thinking? Makes sense that the first steward for Ferrari Challenge owned a Mondial. That's the real reason, Ferrari lite owner overseeing a Ferrari lite racing series. What are you gonna tell me next? That the Dino 246 is a real Ferrari? Get out here and you trying to push your "Ferrari-lite" on us all.
It's on now, pal. 1. I go to the gym and have my trainer specifically work on my low speed steering muscles. 2. up a creek without a paddle? I just use my hands, they're pretty big. 3. computers are for nerds, they'll never catch on and become mainstream. 4. My vacuum is an over rated water bong called a rainbow. 5. some guy who they say liked cars. 6. I had to watch Dan's videos, but I got it now. 7. Google Pants Service? 8. I hear this. Can't wait to see how bougie an E-Ferrari owner is going to be. 9. 4 cylinders more means 50% upcharge in parts. 10. I don't go to concours, mostly becasue my car is not running in my garage. 348 gremlins. sjd

It seems to me that 25K for a 348 major is part of a "skinny tail" on the Gaussian distribution. There may be a few majors that cost that much, just like I'm sure there a few majors that can be done at 2k or less. Just had my service done @ New Vernon Coach Repair, Morristown, New Jersey. $6K + change. Car has been running incredibly smoothly since. Some key parts, as mentioned, had been replaced with H.E. parts from prior owners, e.g. tension bearings, but otherwise, was straightforward. Plan on doing it again in 5 years. Saw that post re: the 25K major before I did my major -- opted NOT to view it. Not doubting that it did in fact cost that much, but it seemed like an extreme "tail" to me**, so I disregarded it as I would most extreme data when analyzing things. My 2C. **The Ferrari dealer quotes were approaching the upper tail of the curve, but did not quite land in the red zone (avg. dealer quote was between 10-15k)
Insecure people try and build themselves up by knocking others down. Here, making fun of cars that they consider inferior and bragging about their "better" car is one way to do that. I have seen this trait more often in people that are less than truthful in the things they do and about who they are. Instead they brag up and embellish their accomplishments and demean and belittle others. Things get lost in translation in e-mails and forum posts....but I am pretty sure I know what we have here.
I'm sorry, the factual information part of this post was 350 posts ago, since then we devolved in to name calling, insults, bannings, threats, and now ridiculous banter about fake Ferraris and the exclusion of anyone who isn't US. Whomever "US" really is... Thanks. sjd
What are you talking about??!!! This is my Mondial. It's for sale too here First person to offer me 160,000 gets this one of kind beauty. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good deal huh? my car used to look like the one on the left, but I made it better on the right. View attachment 2867752
Alright, enough fun and games, back to work. I'm replacing an alternator on a F136 engine. Not very straightforward, have to take out the whole intake manifold to get to it. I'll write a primer when I get time.
That's what I was referring to.... they are the less popular ones. I wasn't bagging on the cars. I think all Ferraris are cool. You were offered to buy a car on the spot just by doing an oil change and a brake flush? Sounds like a really cool dealership.
