LOL - I've used that method once or twice myself. You've got to be super careful though when cutting. With the carbon fiber wheels, the most scary part of removing the tire is when you initially have to fold the tire up and over the lip. I usually cut an old laundry detergent bottle up and use a sheet of the plastic bottle between the tool and the rim to help prevent any scratching. Duct tape also helps sometimes. Ray

It's funny.. some years back I contacted this company (Carbon Revolution) to see if they would make me a custom set of carbon fiber wheels for my 458 Italia. Despite several emails and attempts, they never responded. At the time, the impression I got from their online marketing was that they were primarily focused on wheels for Porsches and other makes. It's great to see that they now are making the wheels for the Pista. Their production process is really great and their rims are beautifully made. Here's a video showing it, for anyone who is interested: There's also a cool video on YouTube, which shows how Koenigsegg makes their wheels. The process used is slightly different, but it also produces a very nice carbon fiber wheel:
Yep Geelong , Victoria , Australia , where I was born Too bad they aren't reaping in the cash. I would wage that I could get my own designed and made cheaper than what Ferrari charges. They don't make the milled CNC'd aluminium mould. Another company makes them around the corner from my house Last month they listed on the ASX to expand
It would be interesting to go over their financials, now that they are public. A lot of businesses have very poor business models, as far as actually making a profit is concerned. The raw materials cost of making anything in carbon fiber isn't all that expensive. I've looked into buying the carbon fiber sheets and making stuff, but my garage isn't setup for such messy work. Welding and grinding is steel is bad enough haha Ray
I did the 5 stripe option. The outer pencil stripes in alumino lucido, ad well as the center. Standard black for the two larger stripes.
