Thanks Dave. Did you get those wheel bolts with the wheels?
No, those are the standard OEM bolts (which in my case originally were fitted to 14" OEM wheels). I've never heard of a "common" aftermarket wheel for our cars which required the use of new bolts. DM
If you haven't purchased anything yet, consider these wheels by BC Wheels of Daytona Beach, I had them custom made to factory offsets, in 17 inch, front and back are 1/2 wider then stock. Amazingly they are 7 lbs. lighter, two of the wheels required no weights when balanced, the others only needed 1/2 ounce. The best part was price, they were about half the price from all the manufactures I contacted. Bought over a year ago. Car handles like a dream now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Friends, Here is a set of pics of the Cromodora QV 16" wheels, the rear ones have a groove instead of a lip. I had HRE also and wanted a factory look and also spent about 1000 hours polishing them!!!! BTW Steve I was think the same thing on those 16" early Cromodora Dino style wheels. here is the sticker shock on those hub caps..... https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/105239?id=54303
OK, ANOTHER stupid question. If I were looking at used original wheels, looking for the 16” 308, what markings would I be looking for cast in the wheels to assure they were original and correct? I see all sorts of listings for “308 Speedline 165 tr 390mm” wheels, but they never say 14-15 or 16”. I imagine those are the 14s?
Here they are Cromodora QV Wheels, they were an option on the GT4 and GTB Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You would be looking for an ad that said Ferrari QV Cromodora Wheels 7x16 & 8x16. I run 205 55/16 on front and 255 50/16 on back. They are hard to find but worth it. Thats said the repros are aluminum and much easier to get painted and everyone needs at least 3 or four sets of wheels right...
Ha, you are right, Robert. I believe I will order new repros for the time being and keep an eye out for a set of real ones at the right price.
missed this thread. I just had these made for for a fellow member 17x8, 17x9 as stock looking as I could do with an available forging so they are forged monoblock not cast. I also have a slightly less oem but lighter design and can do either design in 17" or 18" for about $600 each with the current tariffs if anyone is interested. I can do custom too if there is something you want as long as I can make it fit an forging. [email protected] 17" wheels 18" wheels
Sorry, didn't read carefully enough. I'd been tearing my hair out trying to find stock looking wheels in a larger diameter for years and finally gave up and figured out how to make myself a set. I'm really not trying to advertise and I'm not a business, was trying to help others who might have the same thought.
Um, just for everyone’s info... I ordered the wheels from SP in UK and they were delivered by DHL Express in about 3 days. Yikes. I thought maybe they had a US distributor drop ship them... nope, from UK. That’s some speed.
Also, there’s no center emblems included in the boxes. They are show on the wheels win the online catalog with the price, so I assumed they came with them. I also see them listed separately farther down the page, on “back order.” Is this going to be a problem?
Mine did come with them, but let’s say they’re not great, I fitted new genuine centre caps which fit just fine Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Image Unavailable, Please Login Technomagnesio took over the Cromodora foundry at some point and continued making 16" magnesium alloy wheels for Ferrari. Those are identical to the QV wheels with the lip on the narrower front wheels and groove on the wider back wheels. Exception is no raised Ferrari text or wheel size. Only fine black decals with Ferrari text and wheel size. They aren't quite repros as they are same foundry and alloy, but aren't QV 16" wheels either. Many found their way on earlier 308s as folks swapped from 14" wheels but long before the SUK repros in aluminum became available.
Just wanted to post and say the missing wheel caps were delivered without issue. I have to say, this company, Superperformance, is extremely professional and easy to deal with. I was concerned about their distance, but they make it feel like they are on the next street corner. I’m a fan.
