thanks a lot , I will do it (my left shocks leak..):):)
Hi Greeting everyone. I just got myself a 2007 f599 gtb. 4 of my absorbers are already leaking during my purchase. am interesting in the option above, sending it to Poland for refurbishment. Am curious, have you sent it and got it back? reliable? Working perfectly as good? how much mileage have you put on it?
How long did it take for you to get the shocks back in your hand after you shipped them? Looked on website, couldn't find turnaround times. Thank you.
Does the problem go away once the shocks have been replaced? Is there a new part that is improved or does the problem continue for the life of the car?
I don't believe there was an upgrade, you either get yours re-done or buy new ones and start all over again.
who knows.. I guess it will come back eventually. Mine has made 38000km in 12 years and they were leaking. I did 8000 in 1 year since they were fixed and they are dry. imho when you drive the car frequently, they won't leak that fast, but they will one day.. consider it a maintenance cost, how sad that may sound..
I believe the remanufactured ones have improved seals which should make it last much much longer. Ask the rebuilder what their opinion is. Sent from my MAR-LX1M using Tapatalk
While I'm looking for a 430, I have noticed the 599 are coming down in price, but I'm a little afraid of the idea that it's not if the shocks will leak but when. So realistically what is the cost at an independent per axil (assume they have to be replaced in pairs) so I an factor that into my considering a 599 over a 430. Thanks, Cheers, Corey
Over 40k on my car, slight leakage. The guys at Competizione advised me to wait until it gets worst. But honestly, on a 12 year old car with over 40k I don't see this as a problem. It's more like a regular service issue.
So what is the general cost to take care of this? Is it a 10k thing to replace all of them or like 10k or more at an independent?
Ok. Just noticed my brain farted with my English. Is it a 10k thing to replace all four at an independent or more? Thanks, Cheers, Corey
I was quoted 10k for all 4 at the local f dealer. But like many other said, very minor leak doesn’t require replacement yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m not a 599 owner...yet. Just doing research as I’m thinking of adding to my stable. At any rate, I find this thread fascinating and helpful. I had some leak as well. Had the oil marks cleaned and then sent to Ferrari service for a general inspection as car was newly purchased and had clutch issues. Ferrari service came with a very long list of things to do but no mention about any shock malfunction. They did not do test drive due to clutch. So should there be an engine light when they fail? Or a dtiver's feeling that I should watch for when driving? As car is new to me, have no idea how the car should feel.
