Some comments/questions: As we know, cam belt changes can be quite safely extended to 5 years. $2,200 dollars for an engine out at the dealer? Is that for labour alone? Regarding the F1 gearbox: "Until recently you had to buy a whole replacement unit... Now it's possible to buy individual components... such as valves". Does he know something we don't? I think he's approaching this from a dealer angle, not a buyer angle.
