Take a look at the Forza controller as well.

I have the capristo on my 458 and half the time the remote doesn't work. It also makes a weird noise when its open and you let off the gas kind of like a backfire but I think its the exhaust hitting the flap.

I have the forza on my F12 and it works all the time.

Go to the Forza Componenti site and look at the installation instructions. They are quite detailed and would be the same for the Capristo. Personally, having had both in different cars, I'd go with the Forza unit, mainly because of the added function of being able to keep the valves closed all the time as well as open all the time or per the OEM control routine. I never had a problem with either unit not functioning, though.

On a 458 spider, do you gscr to drop the bumper and/or diffuser to install either the Capristo or Forza units?

Drop at least the diffuser. Spider is reportedly a bit more difficult than coupe.

Easily done on coupe from the top. No need to drop bumper. Spider from what I saw, can be done from the top also. Air box cover needs to come out.
