Porsche Cayman Interseries car. Eighties Porsche livery.

Bumped up to GT class spec. Seems to have it all going on. Its a hoot to drive. Handles like a cat on carpet. Strong power to weight. Super safe cage & equipment. I was impressed with the quality of parts & conversion efforts so I pulled the trigger. Great seller made it easy.

I will put more laps on it & get more impressions shortly.

That looks like a very fun car. I'm anxious to hear what you think. Who did the work on it?

Thank you teak. All of the Interseries cars were produced by Napleton Porsche. I am under the impression that they built around 20 a year for several years. Each with a numbered dash plaque etc. Reservoir shocks, spherical links, 700lb springs, everything adjustable. My 1st few laps were engaging.

Manual Chas. The PDK is actually very good, and I would have bought either. But this one is a stick.

Nice. Were these Napleton cars built on production car VINs?

Yes, the car actually has a title. Heck it only has 8000 chassis miles on it, albeit track miles!

I have been toying switching to a cayman s w/PDK. I've raced a Vette a decade + years. I'm bored with it but, one of the things that makes me stay with vette is the ease of urgent trackside service. Midengines are never easy to work on especially trackside.

Bobby, you are correct. So I spoke to a Cayman veteran today & asked him questions like that for us. He said (pretty straight up) that the engines are reliable as a stone, rarely are there trackside needs. But when major parts in the drivetrain do time-out or fail, you just plug in another one and you are done. The parts are still sold over the counter and available. He went on to say that the Cayman is not like a cup car with their cup car appetite.

I dunno, but I am going to try it on!
