Interesting photo as I have not come across any information about a 512 BB in Chiaro Oro in Australia. Does the magazine show a registration number ? I am aware of a LHD 512 BB in Chiaro Oro, chassis 21881 which was at Retromobile in Paris this year, correct colour scheme and interior, but LHD
That was the most annoying man in the Ferrari club’s car. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Flipper did. One of the slower Boxers I’ve raced against. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Thanks for the welcome and kind comments gents. Looking forward to getting this thing out and about. It will look good next to a couple of it’s more colourful stable mates... Soo I'm guessing your name is Ryan. It'd be good to fill out your profile, just in case you want to know where to get parts/service etc in your area. Those Porkers look good. I sold my '71 Aussie T to a bloke in Sydney in '14.
The bloke who wrote that article used to live over the road from me in Kirribilli - the Boxer was parked on the street for a coupe of nights. John
Congratulations Ryan, saw the car last Wednesday and it's refreshing to see it in that colour combination, looked amazing.
Follow up questions - does anyone have a secret stash of TRX tyres? I’m coming up blank with the usual sources (Stuckeys, Longstone etc) And does anybody me know if Coker in the USA sells the real deal or their own repops?
220/55-390 TRX production is currently in progress, expect deliveries to start next month. Coker USA sell genuine product.
That must've been quite a sight to behold in 1980, when mainstream Ferrari's were actually exclusive and truly special cars. I've never seen a Oro Boxer in the flesh so you are a lucky man. Its looks sensational in the pics though with the lower half in black.
Hey Whombo...have you seen this: https://www.amazon.com/Cavallino-Nel-Cuore-Autobiography-designer/dp/8879116223 As a Fioravanti fan, it's a must have. BTW, my neighbour has a friend with a Oro Chiaro Mondial Qv. It looks sensational and he hasn't vandalised it by painting the black sections body colour.
A brilliant man - I had no idea that he'd patented the beautiful belt-line door handles used on his best designs. Image Unavailable, Please Login
He had no off street parking so we used to see all sorts of exotica. And you're right - was only the second Boxer I had seen, the other was black/black with gold bbs wheels.
No. It looks like a must buy. Does it look at good as that other whombo's Mondial? You know, that blu chiaro non aussie delivered POS that belongs to that fellow F-chatter! on here!
Thanks Carl, Stuckeys said as much but also mentioned that they had been hearing that for a long while now.
Just order through Longstone Tyres in the UK, excellent website, fast delivery, keep an eye out for their free delivery specials Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
