hi all I’m the proud and excited new owner of Mondial 8 41359 in magnificent Oro Chiaro Having seen the posts on goldfinger I’m pretty excited to show you this survivor. I can find a couple of references to this car from Jurgen @enzo360 and would love to know anything about it’s history prior to arriving in Australia. I’m pretty clear on its history down under - but anything going back to its uk delivery is a little hazy. For your enjoyment see photo attached. Pretty looking car! Something to put in : https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/mondial-registry.12078 Have fun with it ! Guido
Awesome, could you tell a bit more about the interior and in which country it was initially delivered?
Just uploaded more info on the registry, but it’s a light tan (assuming biscuit) interior. Image Unavailable, Please Login
While restoring the car and putting it back in gold, I wondered whether a beige interior would give enough contrast to a golden exterior. I have seen brown and black interiors in these Oro Chiaros and thought about redyeing the interior in black (like mine originally was when delivered). The doubt continued until I fitted the aluminum door sills... These door sills really break the beige/gold color and from that moment on, I knew beige is the right choice! The 2 tone makes sense - I have spent the last few days over Xmas conditioning the leathers - I have to say an arduous job on the beige, however the black responds very very well to conditioning. I think it will take a few more goes to start to see the creases soften and the dirt lift out of the cracks. I love how period correct this combination is though - very 1982
Thanks Jurgen She sure is. I found a reference to this car you made on a post previously. Is there any way I can find out more information on it - where in UK it was delivered etc? Cheers Dan
A late echo from the low lands! congrats with your Mondial! It looks nice! I think everyone has really fallen in love with the golden look of the Mondial by now! Safe miles!
The car looks good , congratulations on your new acquisition and welcome to the forum . Enjoy, drive it in good health .
This is near the end of the 8 production run. It's cool to see the combination of 8/QV interior parts. I read that some of the later 8s got the QV engine. I forget where I saw it is there Any truth to this? Sent from my SM-G930V using FerrariChat.com mobile app
