Well, I am already being contacted to "Run out to Copart, and bid"......on things That's not how CoPart works, only Authorized Rebuilders are allowed.. But let's put the KNOWN losses, all in one spot. Mark Manda was looking at a black TR, that to MY eye was a candidate, as water was not "in the dash" from the water line across the hood....but it was starting to mold, and be stinky!!!! There was no body in it, though! LOL!
I know this is about Ferrari, but I came across a Mclaren SLR being sold for $55,000. It had condensation inside the dash guages and light lenses all the way around BUT what really stuck out about the car was this MOLD/FUNGUS where the dash board open and closes; all this filth muck all along the outside dash. Possible seawater/freshwater mix inside the car. Car looked nice on the outside.
I wonder how much the body panels, wheels, and windows would sell for assuming nothing else could be salvaged. Maybe $55k is fair for those parts alone.
correct. Thats the way I looked at it......a parts car....even parts of the engine and exhaust without the wiring harness and ECU.
From what I gather the 3 current flood Ferrari's on Copart (458, 328, TR) do not require a dealer's license to bid on.
I saw this last night on Facebook, it's really sad to see Texas World Speedway wind up as a storage lot. A friend is planning to fly over it & get some detailed drone footage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well I guess its officially closed now. Bummer. Got last track day in on 8/21 so was one of the last to use it.

Probably will show up with a clean title somewhere on the planet.
Ferrari will buy it, renumber, toss in Febreze, and sell as new. Like old days. Nobody will drive it anyway
Stacking up in Columbus on open land north of I10. I think Royal Purple Raceway is full! They were putting the Corvettes and muscle cars against the front fence! Like "Save Me!!" It's not salt water, the storm runoff was sewage.....
https://www.copart.com/lot/39887577 My flooded Scud coming up for auction on Copart. It's sitting at TWS. Looks like they cleaned out the mold on the seats, steering wheel and dash etc. Hated to lose that car with less than 6,000 miles. You can see the decals are still on it from the Ferrari Mondial event at Daytona last December. For those that want to know it was jacked up about 2ft in the garage but the water came up above mid point of the wheels. And it sat in the water for over a week. Its already been replaced with a similar spec'd 2009.
Ran into a guy today at IKEA who lost his 348. Got his insurance check and brought a superperformance Cobra.
Sorry about your loss— too bad I can’t see more of it’s condition in the pictures. Permanently damaged headlights, lenses, windshield? I’d pay someone to go take a look for me.
Not that I personally would ever even want to try to bring a flood car back to life (even if it isnt a Ferrari) but what would it realistically take to bring one of these back to life after a flood like that? Seems to me with the reserves i was seeing on a lot of these cars and what I imagine it would cost might as well have bought a good car to start with, now if you wanted to turn it into a race car thats a different story. Someone also told me that people buy these and ship them overseas.
30k for all the computers and a six month wait worst case is my toss of the dice. Worth it to me but what about the rest of the car? Fwiw
Well, i purchased the 458 sa. The scud ended yesterday for less than 115k, not sure if it sold or not. Can’t wait to restore the SA, i couldn’t let it die a parts car.
Keep us updated. The cheapest scud I seen is 159 so lets see how much it costs to fix! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
