Are there any interesting 50's Ferrari's for sale. Looking at 166,212 and 250 Europa's. Maybe a Boano coupe. I had the chance to get one of these early cars in the early 80's but backed off and got a Lusso as it was $23,000 and the 212's that were running were $40,000. At the time 80's and mid 90's a many of the cars that I was looking at had a lot of issues. I assume that the rise in prices these problem cars have been fixed. Anything good coming up at auction or private sale?
Fantasy Junction has a beautiful 1952 212 Europa that was a factory show car I believe? I saw it in the vault at the Petersen where it was being stored and sort of got tacked onto the tour. Went up for auction estimated at 1.6 and didn't sell. FJ has had it for several months now and I think they're asking 1.4 Awesome car. Beautifully restored. Two tone metallic blue over blue leather. I'm in love with it (check the "wanted cars" in my profile!). Link- http://www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/1958-Ferrari-212%20Europa%20Coupe%20by%20Pinin%20Farina-2.6%20Litre%20Colombo%2012-Cylinder
They also had a '59 250 PF coupe that was asking $625k. Grigio Scuro over black leather. More of a driver I think but also very nice looking to my eye. Happy hunting.
