Well done mate. 12 days older than Max as the 2nd youngest podium finisher Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Said it in the race thread as well, but will put it here also before I get accused again for hurting someones feelings: This weekend was the first weekend he actually looked F1 worthy. He inherited plenty of places but he actually looked competent behind the wheel, something he didn't do in Canada (that some heralded as a ''great race'' for him) and the rest of the season. Where he finished is irrelevant due to the crazy nature, however it should be noted that without the craziness, he still would've had a good, solid, points finish on the books...and that's what matters! Congrats on his first podium.
What happened to all the very loud talk about him being useless/not fit for F1 etc etc from around 90% of the 'experts' on here? Lance Stroll has a life,a pretty good one actually, hope you guys can eventually get one too
Nice race by Lance, his confidence really was boosted after Montreal and he was not over driving. Today will be a tough day for Jacques Villeneuve.
I didn't bash his father. I'm guilty saying Lance was inept of driving an F1 car, and until today that's true. This weekend is the first one he looked competent. I've said multiple times that he and his dad seem alright people. I'm not eating crow either, unless the people accusing me of doing so can actually come up with a factual argument that proves that Stroll actually did show promise in any of the races pre-baku, I'll maintain that. (hint, the factual argument that proves Stroll was promising doesn't exist)
Quit the guilt trip. Reread my sentence. "By the same token, all the bashing of Lance and father wasn't necessary either." It wasn't directed at you specifically.
What guilt trip? I was not wrong in any of the other GP's saying he was inept, as that's exactly what he was. If this was a normal race he'd have finished 8th, lol.
A chaotic race on the least technical track of the championship. That's the only way Lance can finish third. No cherry-picking of engines now.
He didn´t crash. That alone was a great achievement today. Of course, there is still a lot of room for improvement, but I have to admit the the kid is getting better.
