Sorry later than expected, here's a bunch of period UK and USA Road tests.... some figures Ferrari, some calculated, some tested:

    1986 Road&Track, 3.2 149(Mfr). 1986 Autocar 3.2 144best 143mean. 1987 car&driver, 3.2 144. 1987 Automobile magazine 3.2 149. 1988 Motor, 3.2 148.5 (banked circuit). All coupes, MFR = manufacturers figures, i.e. Claimed. Fastest independent - UK 148.5 (banked) or 237.6kph.

    3.4t.... cab 1991 road&track estimated 154. Jul 1990 car&driver tcab 159 (as tested). Aug 89 Automobile magazine 158 (coupe). Road&Track special 1990, 158 @ 7600rpm with optional ratios of 3.706 over standard 3.823 (MFR). June 1992 Autocar, t coupe 'flat out' 154. Car Jul 93 Valeo 158 (MFR).

T appears to be 159 cab or 254.4kph.

Hope these are of interest. Just in case someone about to start a thread.....

1988 UK 3.2... clutch change 3.5hrs; oil filter £9.82; front wing £317.30 and the 'whole exhaust' £634.11. Price £48,102. Extras sunroof £1127; leather headlining £573; leather dash £810!!!

Described as an...'inherently expensive hand built mid engined supercar'!

Lino, in case it was buried... 159mph fastest in-period actual road test I can find. With a CD of .40, over the 0.42 CD of the 3.2.

With some tape over panel gaps and the wipers off you've got to be able to nail the 160;-)

I think the difference was mainly press launch vehicles, rather than the national dealer released vehicles during lifetime; but I know what you mean!!!

I'd be nervous about folding mirrors in case they're the only bit of the mondi that generates Downforce!!!!

I found a big difference in indicated speed and gps speed when testing mine the other day i did 150 MPH indicated or 130 MPH by GPS. Either way i can ssure you that i felt quite scary every increased MPH bit that is what i love about old cars, you have to respect them.

I do recall briefly seeing 130mph on the clock in my Mondial QV. I was paying more attention to where I was going than the speedometer. I only looked because it started to feel light. I would never have knowingly gone over 130 in that car.

Incidentally that is the fastest that I'm aware I have ever driven myself on a track or road where it is legal.
Since then in both an F355 and now 360 I have never had the inclination to look and not yet done a track day in either.

I had some runs down the TOP Gear test track runway at the Wings and Wheels show. I got 140 on speedo with my 3.2, on board was me at 14 st, son 14 st and mate 13 st. Not sure what the 140 really equates to. It was fun though.

I have had several cars above 150, as the poster mentioned, empty highway, good weather, and a clear visibility miles down the road. I think that, for most of us that own exotic/muscle cars, it's the satisfaction of KNOWING what the car is capable of running at. Brings a smile to my face, every time I'm driving one of my fast cars, knowing it can do such high speed.

Yeah, imagine owning a Bugatti Chiron...you know you can go 260+, but your brain tells you to stay below 200 ;)
