Used as a spare in Aus as well. I've just changed to a space-saver.
some pictures: who guess how much I had to pay for them, wins an bad working spark plug... (but signed by me...) They appear to be removed from the car more or less 30 years ago after two or three years on the car. The two front original factory Pirellii P7 are still like new, the rear original factory Pirelli P7 is gone (no street legal nor at the time it was removed) The two front still have their OEM factory centercaps. Never restored nor repainted Offset is 11.15 for the front and 11.45 for the rear. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great find Alberto. From your post I reckon you have these cheap so I say Euro 1500?? I am so pleased I now have a full OEM set of 16' after a year of trying to collate a set having started with two rears! Next stop is refurbishment.........
Suggestion - imho If you're going to refurb down to bare metal, study MIL-M-45202. Mg was made practical as an engineering material because of these processes. Cromodora & Campagnolo know this too well.
I'm going to guess that you paid 600 Euros for them... because I think you got a very good deal indeed.
Yes, and he gave me his wife too... I just want to say that I gave RED HEAD 2450 euro (more or less) to have his two rear 16x8 shipped my home, and they were in good conditions but required a restore. I paid those three more than 600 euro, but they don't require any money nor work to be installed on the car as they just have some small scratches. Even the two front tires haven't any visible time damage: They are in exceptional conditions Try again: The spark plug is still here... Ciao
Ok, let's stop the game. Nor Piezo nor Mike nor RED HEAD won the spark plug. But I can say you that it was the correct price for one of them, not all three. In any case, I'm still looking for the fourth, the rear 8x16" missing. Is there anyone here that can can help me, please? Thank you very much ciao Edit: Are the Campagnolo 16" rims more or less expensive than the 16" Cromodora?
Campys are a nicer mold, and do not have the raised letters. I think they have all become so rare there is not much difference in the price, Albert. I think there is far more difference, in the seller!
For airplane parts we use Either anodize per MIL–M–45202, Type II (Dow 17) or a chemical conversion coat per MIL-M-3171 Type III. For wheels the MIL-M-3171 type III is probably easier then two coats of epoxy zinc chromate primer (AkzoNobel or PRC Desoto) then two coats of polyurethane enamel top coat.
I know this is showing off but can i draw your attention to this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/365-gt4-2-2-400-412/542707-240-55vr415.html
Well, through a comedy of events and several offers all deals have fallen through. I have my raised letter free Cromodoras back up on Ebay. Ferrari 308QV 16" Cromodora Magnesium Alloy wheels | eBay PM or email me if anyone is interested in making an offer. I can end the Ebay auction, and yes I am now willing to ship international (UK, Europe, Australia) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I also have four for sale here in Sweden but they are earlier 14" 1978 what are the price of them? Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
What are your thoughts on the value of these Ferrari OEM 16 inch wheels? From the bits of history I can find, these were supplied to Ferrari, with Ferrari part numbers, by Tecnomagnesio after its acquisition of Campagnolo's wheel business in the early to mid 1980s, possibly as early as 1981. I have had these in my parts cache, but I'll be listing them in FerrariAds now since I have two additional sets of wheels for my 308. These wheels have the Ferrari part numbers molded in the back, 120926 for the fronts and 120927 for the rears, but the date stamp areas are blank. I had the wheels professionally refinished, color matched exactly as original, with the factory satiny gloss clear coat duplicated. Also, the Ferrari and 7J and 8J x 16 markings are painted as original, not decals. That was quite an undertaking in and of itself. There are a few little imperfections in the paint, but overall the refinisher did an excellent job. These wheels are perfectly true and ready to go. I searched high and low, but couldn't find any comparable wheels for sale, so any input would be appreciated. They look exactly like Superformances 16" replica I have (But I never checked the back, so I could be wrong). I think that the original had the production date and the "Lega di Magnesio" (magnesium alloy) writing If they are the replica, they worth 300 USD each ciao
Ciao Alberto, Thanks for the response but these are definitely not replicas. I have a set of the Superformance replicas. The Superformance replicas are not molded correctly as the fronts look just like the rears, although different widths. The replicas do not have the Ferrari part number and they have Made in England on the back. The replicas have decals for the logo, falsely claiming to be "Campagnolo". These wheels have the Ferrari part numbers and bear the logo of the Campagnolo successor, are "Made in Italy", came with a silk screened or painted logo, and are molded correctly (i.e. fronts and backs are contoured differently). I don't know if they are aluminum or magnesium, but they were made by Tecnomagnesio, so maybe that's a clue?! Jeff
Hi Jeff, I will check with the front one (Campagnolo original)I have. If they are Campagnolo, I would like to buy them. Ciao
They miss the indentation line though on the rear wheels, that is the major difference between these and the originals. Maybe worth a bit more than the super performance as these are magnesium but how much difficult to say.....
Thanks, but I can't find any photos of Campagnolo 16 inch 308 wheels with the indentation line. Perhaps that was variable? I did find the somewhat grainy picture below that claims that the pictured set is of the "rare Campagnolo Ferrari 308 wheels from 1979." Those look like 16 but maybe they are 14? There isn't an indentation line on the rears of that set. Jeff Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a Speedline 16x7, not a Campagnolo. It has the production date impressed as all original rims: My one is a 12/1980. I don't know the Campagnolo, but the rear Cromodora rim has a different shape from the front one. Ciao
Thanks for checking, Alberto! These have the circles for the date code but no stamping of the year. The textured field for the date is still intact. Mystery... I realize I am getting pretty far out in the weeds here, but I just want to accurately and fairly represent the facts to potential buyers.
