Further afield anyone present at Retromobile would do well to check out Fiskens, Lukas Huni and the many other dealers who always have superb automobiles on display. If you would like further information about these and other lots on offer at the Parisienne auctions email me on [email protected] and I will send you my free monthly newsletter. Cheers Timothy
Absolutely agree but thats supply and demand. Every owner of a 993 series GT2 saw what happened in London and thinks me too and "floods" the market. Same for Ferrari's and so much else.
Well, sometimes is not good for auctions. I will check the RM catalogue. Thanks for details Tim. I notice you put also #
RM lots here: View Lots | Classic Car Auctions | RM Sotheby's Bonhams here: https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24103/ (click the e-catalog option on the right, the cars begin on page 66) The Porsche 917 Prototype from RM is quite interesting. Not sure about the 'mid-restoration' look, but it's a great piece of history.
GTB/4 is my favorite, perfection on wheels. Fantasy junction has always a good stock. Report are always cheap as pictures.
Barchetta was a bargain at $362k with just 393 kms. F40 no sale at high bid of $906k 250 PF Cab S2 sold at $1.172k
275GTB have always sold at a large discount to GTB/6C Longnose and perhaps 50% of the GTB/4. Each have different fans but for many the GTB/4 is the ultimate and thus the one they want. Scottsdale had several GTB including the car now at Fantasy Junction and the cars that did sell at RM and Bonhams were very good buys, all covered in my report which I am happy to send anyone that wants it...... [email protected] I am not surprised that the 917/10 didn't sell, it is a polarising car with that look and an unclear future purpose apart from museum display and perhaps the occassional demonstration lap although it should be noted the dealer offering the car was asking close to 10 million euro for it and great 917K are now $25 - 35 million cars. Elsewhere RM did very well especially for their Porsche's. Other great stands include the greatest selection of classics of all ages at Fiskens, Lukas Huni, Girardo and others. All well worth a look. A nice 2-cam 275GTB, depending on configuration is more like 70% to 75% the value of a comparable 4-cam in very broad terms, in my observation. For example FML average data seems to support this. 50% is a less than good example.
