On the top of the clutch master cylinder is a small diameter plastic 90 degree fitting to which the hose from the reservoir connects. Mine is cracked, leaks and is not replaceable as a separate part from Ferrari. The clutch master is perfect otherwise. Might anyone know of a part equivalency or have a broken clutch master laying about with a good elbow pipe on it?
you may look at a junk yard. nearly all europe cars with not automatic gearbox around 1980 to 1990 have this "ellbow". there you get it for nearly free. I did the same about 2 years ago
Worse-case if you can't find just the elbow. As long as I have been buying F parts, this actually seems like a great deal... Ferrari 355 348 456 Testarossa Clutch Master Cyl | eBay
Thanks to all, I have removed the offending item and learned that some time in the past it had been broken and repaired using a sleeve. Not a good idea. Finding an 80s euro master cylinder to scavenge here in Dubai will be tough. Not many old cars exist here and breakers cater to Japanese stuff. I may simply buy a used TR clutch master, scavenge the part and keep the rest as a spare.
I will also post this in the TR cross reference. page, but the clutch hose fitting is the same for everything from a 308 to a 430 manual. BMW part no 21-52-1-151-697 is the same bit, which fits a multitude of 80s and 90s BMWs.
a) same thing has happened to me now. possibly broke it when I recently changed the brake pedal switch for the brake lights. b) now I am trying to remove the broken little plastic fitting from the clutch master without removing the master cylinder from the car c) it will not come out. d) if I can get it out, I fell confident that I could find a used replacement or a substitute thanks for replies................ js
The 360 uses those for both the brake and clutch. Those are available separately. I suspect one of the two will fit.
photo would be good to see where it is broken excatly. once had an equal problem and fixed it perfectly
