This 1999 3-pedal Spider might be a deal for someone if it checks out: Cars for Sale: 1999 Ferrari F355 Spider in Medley, FL 33178: Convertible Details - 414729817 - Autotrader It's at a place called Trucks Unlimited Wholesalers in Medley, Florida. 30K miles, $49,900 ask. VIN ZFFXR48A3X0114188.
This car has a hit on carfax, but a very nice car indeed. This car did not attempt the smog certification due to arriving late to the auction thus giving it the inability to be registered in California through Mecum. It should pass a cali smog with flying colors, and can definitely be registered in California. Auction houses often do this to avoid any potential liability as sellers.
I saw that ad too. If I wasn't on the other side of the country I would have checked it in person out already!
1995 Ferrari 355GTS for sale #1791053 | Hemmings Motor News Nice one at 149k ask. a clone to mine and a stunning example, getting mine back from service Friday!
I traded my F355 spider for an Aston Martin at Ferrari of Tampa Bay. It ran flawlessly on the 4 hour drive to Tampa. I know I'm going to miss it but my old knees have a hard time getting in and out of it. The Aston Martin was the general managers wife's car. It will be interesting to see what the ask for it. Thanks to all the forum members that were of help to me. It made owning one of the truly great cars of all time a real pleasure. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Come on wtf are you talking about. Anything in cali is emissons related. No state cares about a car with a previous salvage title.
I don't own a Ferrari but I have recently starting looking for a F355 to buy (seems like everyone and their mom, lately). I read this entire thread, which surprisingly only started 6 months ago. From what I gather, even in the last 6 months, asking and sold prices for F355s have gone up, even as winter has come. I should have started looking 6-12 months ago when I could have gotten a well maintained car in the $50-60k range private party. Even this 'VALUES' thread (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/501079-real-f355-values.html) that was started in Sept quotes prices in the $40-50k range at the start, then $75k posted today for a driver’s car. Dealer asking prices and private parties who follow dealer trends for similar cars now are outrageous, asking over $100k. But if you examine closely, these seem to be left unsold, or go from dealer to dealer, or very low mileage cars. It's not that I don't believe the F355 could be worth over $100k some day (one of the most beautiful sports cars of the 90s IMO, manual 6-speed, NA V8, hitting every right nerve in my body, BUTTRESSES!) but it all seems to be hyped up at the moment. My heart says go for it and pay near asking to get your dream car, but my brain disagrees. I'm not going to be the one to jump off that cliff (...maybe). Here were/are my leads for GTBs <$100k I’ll share: 1. 96 red/tan 26k at Park Place SOLD in a day, $69,950. VIN:ZFFXR41A2T0106197 1996 Ferrari F355 ZFFXR41A2T0106197 for sale in Seattle Bellevue WA. Is it just me, or does that look like it has about 50-75k more miles than what is on the odometer? Even the passenger seat shows considerable wear...and the driver's seat bolster is shot. What gives?
I believe this is the car that was supposedly involved in a roll over accident at some point? Correct me if I'm wrong.
In my opinion the bubble will burst soon. Global economic outlook doesn't look too great, and at the end of the day the 355 is a mass produced entry level exotic car. Investment grade ones may hold their value, but none of the cars you've listed are in that category. If you want something to just enjoy and keep for a very long time, I'd place #10 at the top of my list.
