I remember when these cars were flat out cheap. It was not that long ago. About ten years ago, a 1985 RoW M506 'driver,' with the BBS wheels and factory pimpin interior with the extra gauges had an asking price of 25K in Canada. I called and it was already sold. Pete Rose had a tuner special. Same situation. It was not that expensive. As far as I know, the factory has no documentation on the 81-85 special wishes cars.
Ralph, I almost bought Jack Clark - another baseballer's slantnose Ruf from Walnut Creek Ferrari back in the 90's, looking back, what a car, anthracite with tan! Those MLB players loved those slantnose turbo's...
Mike, At the time, Jack Clark was broke. He had a huge multi-year MLB contract. Exotic cars was his biggest financial problem. Pete Rose had a RUF or Kremer type car. When I was in college at the Univ of Ariz in the mid 80's, a nightclub owner (Dirtbag's) just off the campus had a black slantnose . I had a Citation X-11 .

I picked up a nice dealer converted RUF slant nose a few weeks ago. Though not a turbo, its got good bones and just needs sorting and paint. I would suggest you look for the 3.2 liter conversions and then perhaps build a turbo motor for your needs. I do not want the speed nor maintenance the turbo drive-train has. 3.2's dont have many issues and are solid cars for years once sorted. The other Ruf slant turbo I had 2 years ago was too insane for public roads. I have a thread in the Porsche section on both of my cars. Good hunting.
