I have just bought my first Ferrari, a 400i, in Medio Blue. It was first registered in November 1984. Its chassis number is 53805 and it had done 50550 miles when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. My wife keeps asking why I am walking around with a stupid grin on my face.
I have owned another classic car for over 20 years so I spent some time looking for a good one. All the others I saw needed lots of work and money spent on them. This one however seemed in excellent order. Found a couple of very minor issues that I shall probably be seeking advice on in the next few weeks. At the moment however, we are just enjoying it.

    Beautiful! Welcome!

Is it blu medio or blu chiaro? Looks very similar to my 412 which is blu chiaro, but not sure if there may be some minor differences.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for everyones enthusiastic comments about my new car.
It is an automatic and is definitely Blue Medio.
Nathan76 - yes I would appreciate information on sources of spares in the UK, although at the moment I do not need anything than a few coolant hoses. Will send you an email or private message.
Here also is a picture of the interior.

Car is gorgeous, but are you going to DRIVE it? I hope so. Mine is not so pretty but I have worked on reliability and I put a lot of miles on mine, usually 1000 mile weekend trips. (Yeah, Brits know what a mile is!)

    Hi Peter

Congrats, it's a very nice one. I also like the colour, but I may be biased as I own a Blu Medio 412.

I'm sure you are aware it is a famous car - featured in Classic & Sportscar magazine and in a TV programme when owned by Jonathan Flower called "Horse Power" where he takes the car around the Silverstone circuit. This was back in 1996. I vaguely remember that at the end of the programme, Jonathan is shown to be keen to purchase a Testarossa from Anthony Pozner of Hendon Way Motors, though in real Life Jonathan went on to own a 412.

Looks lovely - congratulations. Out of interest, from whom did you buy it, as I don't recall seeing it advertised. (If I had, I may have been tempted myself!)

    Hi Ewan,
It was advertised but only after it had been sold to me, as I bought it before it was really put up for sale. I bought it from the Ferrari Centre at Maidstone, Kent.

    Hi David,
Thanks for the info about the car as I did not know it had appeared in Classic and Sportscar. Found the magazine at several sellers so shall get a copy.
I have not yet had much luck in finding out about Horse Power or Jonathan Flower. Do you have any more information on either of these? Ideally I would like to find a copy of that programme but guess that may prove very difficult, or even impossible for a programme produced in 1996.

    Hi Peter,
Unfortunately I can't help you with the programme.
Try the Ferrari owners club regarding Jonathan Flower, he is well known and perhaps has kept an old VHS recording of the programme!
