Hi Pillai, seller's remorse! Well, I almost bought a 355 spider from Kok Ho couple of months ago but he didn't follow up as usual. No loss though, just wanted a convertible & stick shift to cruise around on a nice day but don't really need another Ferrari for sure otherwise the Mrs will not be impressed Well. Yes agree on your experience with 348 but generally, most of the 348s in our area were not properly taken care of & unless owner embarks on a rebuild or serious money, the old ailments will just deteriorate. In fact, quite a no of us share the same pain with regards to maintaining 90s Italian supercars and the lack of expertise in our area can sometimes drive us up the wall. That's why some of us prefer to keep cars in UK where there's an army of experts to look after our classic cars.
Trust me, the amount of downtime, effort & money spent into some old cars are just not worth it unless you're a big fan of restoration & loves the challenge. The hot starter issue. I replaced a brand new one on my car but it stranded twice which I had to push start in public roads and that can be a nerve wrecker as you don't know when the car will let you down. Can't remember if it was ever fixed but we replaced the alternator to a higher output and new, thicker battery cables as well. Good excercise that one but that reminds me, I had to push start my '75 Boxer in a cold winter morning in UK too! Old Italian cars.....but then the beauty is, you can push start a manual car! LOL Almost all Targas had chassis flex & leak issue in those years; same for the pre-993 911s. New seals can solve the problem but some never go away & this leak issue can still hold true for 430 spiders. Dig harder into your piggy bank & find a car that you can enjoy immediately. Coming from a poor chap who buys a lot of old cars to fix. Btw, early 430 coupes can be had for under S$300K with a new COE now & you can have it financed. Insurance is easier to approve as well vs cars that's older than 15yrs. Oh, now that CMNHO reminded me. My ex-348 was a TB as we don't have any GTB left & we used to know every owner in those days. Somehow, they dropped the "G" for the 348 in early production while the best of the 348 is the ultra rare competizione (not available in SG) & you may want to know that the early test mule for the Enzo was actually based on a heavily reworked 348. Before you buy any sports cars, just send it for a PPI with a professional workshop than relying on rumours from forums which will save you a lot of heartache as we're not experts to see what's the current condition of your car. Hoist it up to check, plug it into the computer & test everything.
Yes, a lot of people tend to skip the suspension especially bushes & they can be a PITA to replace while factory tend to sell the entire arms instead so study this carefully but a car with new suspension set up can really transform an old, tired car. There are easily about 2 dozens of bushes on our cars. The bush can cost anything from US$30 to over 300 depending on vintage & rarity plus the labour to knock the old ones out & pressing the new one in! I've also changed/rebuilt the steering racks on my 348, Testa & 456 GT. Finally, finding a good alignment shop is critical as well.
Anyone selling a SLS ? Let me know ... I have 2 air cooled Porsches for sale or a trade and I top up for it . 964 c2 and a 1979 SC . Both fully rebuilt in the UK with receipts . Please PM me . Thanks
Could I ask if you would describe the Ferrari Owners Club in Singapore as enthusiast-run (meaning organized and run by members, independently of but with perhaps some support from the dealer) or dealer-run (meaning the initiative for organization and events is with the dealer)? The Ferrari Owners Club here was just accredited with Ferrari, and, while we have the official guidelines, there are some areas that we could use some direction, based on the experience of older clubs, such as Singapores. As an example, the Lamborghini and Porsche clubs here are very much a dealer initiative, with the dealer planning and organizing the events and generally footing the bill; food and drink at meetings are free. Would that be true for the FOC n Singapore? My background is from the local sports car club, which was organized by enthusiasts a long time ago and run by them, with no outside support, except sponsorships for events. Members pay dues and damage for dinners and meetings. I do not know whether Ferrari owners clubs are supposed to operate in the same manner. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, and regards,
this is for el wayne, the moderator ... "hi, u sent me a pm which i accidentally deleted ... the link u sent resulted in a "Page not found" error ... cheers" i was unable to reply or send you a response in any manner. no idea why you send pm if you want no feedback ...
hey guys, newbie here, was recently very smitten by the f430 and was advised to come here to seek the F-gods for some earthly advice. does anyone have any read on this car? Used Ferrari F430 Car for Sale in Singapore, Autobahn Motors (S) - sgCarMart I am guessing the exhaust manifold may have to be looked into in my limited reading, but would love to join the club so any advice on autobahn's spider would be great. best BW
Hi guys, Can I join the next car meet please? Saw some photos on the previous meet up with the rennlisters and they just blew my mind away. Currently I am driving a E92 M3 but I'd like to switch to a Ferrari to fulfil a dream. Eric
Hi, welcome aboard but most of us have seconded to group chats so the forum is very quiet now. This car looks great with a nice interior though beige is a nightmare to upkeep & don't wear jeans because it stains the seats! Send any cars that you're buying for a total inspection also known as PPI for a peace of mind. If you're anal, you can even request to do a leak-down test on compression of the cylinders but most workshops will not be bothered. Being an 8yr old car, you'll want to check on the suspension, bushings, brakes & the usual safety aspects. Clutch wear comes in % left on the read out.
Waiting to be paid You wanna buy or sell me something? I still have some cars to offload. A bit fatigue about cars at the moment to be honest so how about doing the boating together?

Hi Jon, Sorry for the late reply, was travelling. Was thinking to add another classic to enjoy, mind you the prices have increased quite a lot recently.I plan to hold on to the 308.looked at a few cars in Malaysia..but seems like many do not have much history with them... I have a couple of friends with sail boats in Malaysia, but with the haze not doing much the last couple of months.Looks bad down south in Sg nowadays too.
