    Greetings,

I'm sorry if my search missed a current thread. Can anyone recommend - or warn against - any particular TR-capable mechanic in New York City and Long Island areas?

    Thanks!
    Eric

Hey Eric...This is a loaded question..
Even the best houses get into trouble with TR's...age mileage and condition play a part..
Whata ya got..and how far would you travel??
The NY section is probably a better place to inquire..I can reco a few and dis a few but only by PM..

I have my 92 in a shop right now....I am pretty happy with..

    Thanks Art and MSD!

I bought a triple-black '88 TR, from Hyman out in St. Louis. The listing is still on Hemmings.

Who is the TR registrar? It'd be nice to enter the car into the registry.

    Warmly,
    Eric

    Good suggestion.

Classic Coach across in NJ is also a well known Ferrari service location.

    Two places come to mind.

First choice would be Jim Magee Pocono Sportscar. 2nd choice would be Vinny Latino at Auto Elite. Magee was ace tech at Ferrari of North America when TR's were coming into the country. He knows the car. Vinny also a old school mechanic. Experienced and knows his stuff. Everyone here knows I hold Jim Magee high. Both very reasonable and fair in cost. Antonio has experience with both and should be able to give some solid insight. His insight is solid as he is very thorough. He has a mint TR that is up to snuff.

Thanks again for the additional suggestions.

    - The car's only known issue is a minor leak from the gearbox where it's sealed from the oil pan (as was explained to me). There's a bushing that needs replacement. The gearbox only drips when running drives the fluid level up to where the seal is, and the lube reservoir is full - so good at least for the rest of the driving season I've been told.

    - I'm planning on keeping the car at Deluxe Car Storage, in New Hyde Park, Long Island. It seems to be the closest place to Manhattan that gives each car plenty of room, and quick access. It's also reasonable. I wish there were a similar storage place in Queens or Brooklyn, closer to the city (and hopefully around the $400 monthly price point).

Does anyone know another storage spot in Manhattan, BK, or Queens that doesn't advertise online? Classic Car Club Manhattan told me they're opening a storage facility in 2016.

Check out Bradan, too. I've never dealt with them myself, but they're in your area, and based on the work they've shown in their sub-forum, they look like they do excellent work.

Congrats and a big "FREEZE...MIAMI VICE!" out to you!

Yes, you get to say that now. Please leave your socks at home. :D

I will also vouch for Jim McGee Of Pocono Sportscar. He knows TR's well and has helped me immensely with issues I was working on.
