Not sure but they seem to be a month late http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/special-projects-concept-cars/462712-pininfarina-sergio.html - in fact wasn't it doing the rounds in 2013 ?
How many more "limited editions" will there be? If they keep up they will have produced as much limited units as "mainstream" units haha
So I'm wondering.. was the green light for this given before or after Marchionne took the wheel? Supposed to be named in honour of S. Pininfarina, but just can't seem to shake the feeling there's a hidden message there..
Does anyone know if it was ever decided if they would do this w/ or w/o the windshield? Last I recall (vaguely), the plan was to have a windshield due to safety requirements...T
Guys, settle down. The pic is from the 2013 Geneva show (Greyboxer is correct) and its the concept (an exercise in design). Based on the 458, the actual production units will likely look very different and my bet is they will be something to envy.
I think it's a nice design exercise - helps to demonstrate the elaborate and creative things that the company can do. It's these kind of exercises that might yield enhanced designs for their more "mass produced" future main stream cars. If my reading of the article is correct (and I'd like to think I know how to read), then these lucky invitees were committed to the car when it was only a concept - perhaps just a few sketches on paper and a commitment from the company about exclusivity. I think it's neat. Sort of the same logic that went into the F60 America.
According to the all-knowing web (OK - this URL)... "Origin: Derived from the ancient Latin surname Sergius, of perhaps Etruscan origin, and taken from servare, "to save, to guard, to attend to," and therefore means "attendant, guardian." So, can we take that to mean that Mr. Machionne is the savior, guardian and/or attendant of Ferrari, or at least of the legacy of il Commendatore?!? T
I agree with Raj - love the design or hate it - it'll be very interesting to see how it finally looks in reality. I, for one, can't wait T
sigh. clearly a tribute to Sergio Pininfarina. There are members of this site who collaborated w/ him personally before his untimely death two years ago. Sergio Pininfarina - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Who are the lucky six people that got a Ferrari Sergio? I know only past very good customers would qualify, like Eric clapton. Would Napolis have gotten one? Perry
